Access Flooring Adhesives

A raised access floor (also raised flooring, platform flooring, or raised access computer floor) is an internal floor that consists of strong floor tiles (usually about 600mmx600mm) laid on top of metal pedestals. This creates a void between the base floor and the panels which is used for underfloor wiring, pipes or to create an area which can be tanked to hold water and protect any floors underneath the installation. Typical areas of installation include new or refurbished offices, schools and modern domestic properties.

StarFix PED-ULTRA

StarFix PED-ULTRA is a single component, moisture curing, adhesive that contains zero VOC’s, solvents, phthalates, halogens and phosphates. StarFix PED-ULTRA has been specially formulated for fixing the pedestals used in heavy grade access flooring installations and has excellent adhesion to concrete & most materials likely to be used in the access flooring industry.

StarFix PED-PRO

StarFix PED-PRO is a single component, moisture curing, adhesive that contains zero VOC’s and is solvent free. StarFix PED-PRO has been specially formulated for fixing the pedestals used in heavy grade access flooring installations and has excellent adhesion to concrete and to most materials likely to be used in the access flooring industry.

StarFix PED is a single component, moisture curing, adhesive that contains zero VOC’s and is solvent free. StarFix PED has been specially formulated for fixing the pedestals used in light to medium grade access flooring installations and has excellent adhesion to concrete and to most materials likely to be used in the access flooring industry.

StarFix Acoustic

StarFix ACOUSTIC is a two-component, solvent free, polyurethane, sound and vibration damping, adhesive system specially formulated for use with access flooring pedestals. The material is specially formulated to provide a sound and vibration damping effect by forming a viscoelastic layer between the pedestal and the substrate.

StarFix Tanking

StarFix TANKING has been designed specifically for use as an interior tanking membrane in access flooring installations. StarFix TANKING is a high performance, solvent free, low odour, liquid applied coating which cures by reaction with atmospheric moisture to produce a flexible and elastomeric waterproofing membrane.

StarFix Thixo

StarFix THIXO is a single component, moisture curing, adhesive that contains zero VOC’s and is solvent free. StarFix THIXO has been specially formulated to be of a higher viscosity than a standard pedestal adhesive and is ideal for fixing the pedestals on uneven or challenging surfaces. StarFIX THIXO has excellent adhesion to concrete and to most materials likely to be used in the access flooring industry.

StarFix T-Lock

StarFix T-LOCK is an ultra-low VOC, solvent free, low viscosity, one component modified polyurethane specially formulated as a locking adhesive for pedestal screw threads. It is used in the access flooring industry on pedestal threads and is supplied in an ‘applicator bottle’. When cured, StarFix T-LOCK forms a hard film that ensures pedestal heads are secured.

Resin Surfacing

Decorative resin surfacing is a system in which decorative stones (the aggregates) are stuck to a surface (such as a path or a driveway) using an adhesive (the resin). The completed surface is highly decorative, hardwearing and provides an alternative to other traditional forms of external surfacing such as asphalt, concrete or block paving. There are two basic types of decorative resin surface (Bound and Bonded) and each type contains their own sub-categories.

StarScrape Resin Bound Surfacing

Resin Bound surfacing (Trowel applied) is a type of exterior surfacing commonly used on domestic driveways, pathways or commercial projects due to its highly decorative appearance, strength and permeability. Decorative aggregates are mixed with a resin and then trowel applied to a base as a screed at a depth defined by the sub-base and desired end use of the finished surface. When cured this creates a smooth, glossy surface in which the stones are bound together by the clear resin.

StarScrape Resin Bonded Surfacing

Resin Bonded surfacing (Coat and Scatter) is a type of exterior surfacing commonly used on highways, domestic driveways, pathways or commercial projects due to its highly decorative appearance, strength and low cost. A thin layer of coloured resin is applied directly to the existing surface and then a decorative aggregate is scattered over the resin. When cured the aggregate is bonded to the surface, hiding the resin and resulting in a surface that looks like a loose gravel drive without the problems associated with loose aggregate such as aggregate migration, plant growth or trapped litter.

StarScrape Ultra

StarScape ULTRA is a high-performance, UV resistant, 100% aliphatic isocyanate adhesive used for decorative, resin bound aggregate surfacing applications.

A completed installation provides a highly durable, attractive alternative to traditional exterior flooring types such as paving, concrete, gravel and bituminous surfaces. StarScape ULTRA is a clear resin which is mixed with decorative aggregates and laid as a screed at varying depths depending on the base type and intended use of the completed surface.

StarScrape Pro

StarScape PRO is a high-performance adhesive used for decorative, resin bonded aggregate surfacing applications.

A completed installation provides a highly durable, attractive alternative to traditional exterior flooring types such as paving, concrete, gravel and bituminous surfaces. StarScape PRO is a coloured resin which is applied to a base and covered with a decorative aggregate. When cured, the surface is swept to remove any excess aggregate, resulting in a finish that has the attractive, natural appearance of a loose gravel surface but without the inherent problems associated with loose gravel such as aggregate migration, trapped litter and tyre rutting.

StarScrape Flex

StarScape FLEX is a high-performance adhesive used for decorative, resin bonded aggregate surfacing applications on unknown or low quality asphalt/bitumen surfaces.

A completed installation provides an attractive alternative to traditional exterior flooring types such as paving, concrete, gravel and bituminous surfaces. StarScape FLEX is a coloured resin which is applied to a base and covered with a decorative aggregate. When cured, the surface is swept to remove any excess aggregate, resulting in a finish that has the attractive, natural appearance of a loose gravel surface but without the inherent problems associated with loose gravel such as aggregate migration, trapped litter and tyre rutting.

StarScape THERMAL is a slow cure, high-performance adhesive used for decorative, resin bonded aggregate surfacing applications.

StarScape THERMAL is a coloured resin which is applied to a base and covered with a decorative aggregate. About us

Since 2001, Star Uretech was initially formed to exploit and continue the innovative and in some cases patented developments which were initiated within the Urethanes Division of Sterling Technology Ltd. Star Uretech’s resin products were first manufactured by Sterling, but by late 2005 had moved to their own warehouse and manufacturing facility based in Blackburn.

With over 50 years combined experience in the development and production of specialist urethane resin systems, Star Uretech has become a strongly driven urethane resin systems supplier that meets the needs of specific customer requirements where more conventional technology often suffers shortcomings.
