Membrane keypad & membrane keyboard options:

A wide range of options are available to ensure that your product is tailored to exact requirements, from tactile feedback of the switches to encapsulated components. Please see below for a list of options to consider.

- Backing plates: a wide range of materials and finishes are available
- Colours: virtually any requirement can be met either with Pantone reference or matching to samples
- Connection: our standard SIL 2.54mm/0.1” pitch female connector, or custom pitch without connector

Touch Panels can provide you with high quality, custom printed labels and nameplates. Screen printed labels, also called membrane labels, are durable colour labels designed to compliment your product.

Text and graphics are sub-surface printed onto a thin film textured polyester substrate, providing a wipe clean surface that is resistant to many chemicals and cleaning agents. Printed details are then viewed through the material which protects them from most forms of accidental damage.

A permanent 3M acrylic adhesive backing is applied to the label to enable it to adhere to your product. While this adhesive will give a strong and secure bond to the majority of surfaces, we can provide higher specification adhesives for low energy surfaces if required.

Custom label profiles are cut using a die cutting process using our platen press for higher volumes, or with our laser cutter for prototypes and smaller volume productions. Complex shapes can also be accomodated with laser cutting which cannot be achieved with die cutting.

In addition to screen printed items, we can also provide custom digitally printed labels and nameplates.

Text and graphics are surface printed onto very thin, coloured polyester or vinyl film, using our Gerber Edge thermal printer. These films are available in a wide range of colours and finishes, including metallic and reflective.

Printed details are fused with the surface of the material using heat and pressure and are scratch resistant, however we can apply a clear over laminate to provide additional protection if required.

We recommend the over laminate for all labels that will be mainly outdoors, as it provides long lasting UV protection to preserve colours and prevent yellowing or cracking. It also means that they are almost completely waterproof labels.

The label stock has a permanent adhesive backing which is suitable for most applications. There are material options with higher specification adhesive if required, and even a magnetic substrate.

Profiles are cut using our high speed Gerber Envision plotter and can include complex shapes if required. Finished digital print labels are provided on a roll of silicone release paper for easy removal.

These digitally printed items are much cheaper to manufacture than similar screen printed items, and tend to be produced at a lower resolution. Digital labels and nameplates are ideal for simple, high volume items such as logo labels, machine serial number plates, part number labels, and many other products.

Digital labels and nameplates can be produced with changing serial numbers or references, have very low setup costs and do not require any print filmwork.

Touch Panels can provide you with a complete range of industrial safety signs, with sizes to suit your particular requirement and safety need. Types of safety signs include: caution signs, fire safety signs, no smoking signs, safety warning signs and other safety signage.

Signs are produced using our Gerber Edge digital printer and incorporating industry approved colours, these signs can be of virtually any size. From a small self-adhesive label, to a larger panelised sign mounted onto a rigid backing material, Touch Panels can manufacture it all.

All signs are outdoor ready direct from the printer, with an expected life of 3-5 years depending upon the exact materials and colours used. We can also provide a clear over laminate to extend the outdoor life up to 10 years by providing UV resistance and additional scratch resistance.

Signs can be customised for your exact requirements by changing text or graphics using our extensive library of symbols. We can even combine several different signs into a single product for convenience.

Touch Panels can design and manufacture bespoke business signs for your specific needs, with custom text, logos and other enhancements. Custom signs are not limited to only Health & Safety applications, we are happy to discuss signs of all types and for any situation.

Our flexible sensor tags, sometimes called flexible security tags or retail security tags, are security devices adhered to a product on display in a retail environment. The tag is part of an asset protection system and is designed to activate an associated alarm when tampered or removed, to alert the store to a possible attempted theft.

Using our accumulated knowledge of industrial films, adhesives and screen printing techniques, Touch Panels developed a thin-film retail security tag in the mid 1990’s. These security labels are unique to the industry and we quickly gained worldwide patents for the design.

Our tags incorporate up to four layers of sub-surface screen printed circuitry, as well as custom surface logos and graphics in multiple colours. We manufacture both low and high resistance versions to work with different monitoring solutions.

Many security tagging companies have since used our tag as part of their retail store security systems, replacing outdated options that were previously used. Unlike traditional limpet sensors, our security stickers will adhere to virtually any surface, bend around corners, or even bridge across two separate components.

With clearly printed text and warnings, our flexible sensor tags can be used as a visual deterrent to potential thieves, as well as an effective electronic solution when connected to an alarm system.

Almost everyone will have seen one of our flexible sensor tags protecting a multitude of devices in many large retail chains all around the world. We have developed many bespoke tag styles for our customers, in addition to the range of standard profiles.
