About us

KAP is a long‑established UK specialist in the supply and distribution of rigid and flexible packaging films for the food, healthcare and thermoforming sectors. Founded in 1984 with a focus on supplying high‑quality rigid PVC films to the UK thermoforming industry, the company quickly built a strong reputation for quality, service and technical reliability. Over time, UKAP expanded its product portfolio and market reach, becoming a trusted partner to leading manufacturers, packaging converters and household‑name brands that rely on consistent, high‑performance materials.

During the late 1980s, UKAP joined the Maple Holdings Group, supporting its rapid growth through the introduction of new packaging films, materials and conversion capabilities. Throughout the 1990s, the business continued to expand into the food and healthcare packaging markets, supplying specialist films engineered to meet strict hygiene, safety and product‑protection standards. This evolution strengthened UKAP’s position as a key supplier to sectors where clarity, strength, sealing performance and regulatory compliance are essential.

In 2006, UKAP became part of Vink UK, one of the country’s leading plastics distribution groups. This integration provided UKAP with access to a vast national network of material sourcing, logistics, technical expertise and supplier partnerships. As part of the wider Vink Group—known for its commitment to local service, local stock and fast customer support—UKAP has been able to scale its offering while maintaining the personalised service and flexibility customers value.

In 2018, UKAP expanded further with the acquisition of TransEuropean Plastics, adding Surlyn®, a premium ionomer resin used extensively in high‑clarity, protective and premium‑grade packaging applications. This addition broadened the company’s capability to support specialised markets requiring advanced sealing properties, durability and enhanced presentation.

Today, UKAP supplies a comprehensive range of rigid and flexible films to meet the demands of modern packaging, with materials designed for thermoforming, vacuum forming, sealing, lamination and protective applications.

The product range includes:

  • Rigid PVC films for high‑clarity food and medical packaging
  • Healthcare‑grade films designed for sterility, shelf life and compatibility with medical processes
  • Food‑grade films engineered for safety, strength and reliable sealing
  • Thermoforming films offering excellent forming stability and material performance
  • Eco films supporting more sustainable packaging and reduced environmental impact
  • Surlyn® ionomer materials for premium, protective and specialist packaging applications

UKAP is recognised across the industry for its commitment to quality assurance, product development, and long‑term customer support. Working closely with global manufacturing partners and industry‑leading suppliers, the company ensures that every film meets strict performance and regulatory requirements. Many of the brands packaged in UKAP‑supplied materials are household names, demonstrating the trust placed in the company’s consistency, reliability and technical expertise.

From its facility at West Horndon, Brentwood, UKAP provides responsive customer service, strong stock availability and dependable nationwide supply. The team works collaboratively with clients to help them select the right film type, thickness and structure for their application—ensuring the required performance in forming, sealing, barrier protection and presentation. With over 40 years of experience, UKAP continues to evolve in step with the packaging industry, supporting modern demands for efficiency, sustainability and product integrity. As a trading division of Vink UK Limited, the business benefits from group strength while maintaining the agile, customer‑focused service that has defined it since 1984.
