During the late 1980s, UKAP joined the Maple Holdings Group, supporting its rapid growth through the introduction of new packaging films, materials and conversion capabilities. Throughout the 1990s, the business continued to expand into the food and healthcare packaging markets, supplying specialist films engineered to meet strict hygiene, safety and product‑protection standards. This evolution strengthened UKAP’s position as a key supplier to sectors where clarity, strength, sealing performance and regulatory compliance are essential.

In 2006, UKAP became part of Vink UK, one of the country’s leading plastics distribution groups. In 2018, UKAP expanded further with the acquisition of TransEuropean Plastics, adding Surlyn®, a premium ionomer resin used extensively in high‑clarity, protective and premium‑grade packaging applications. This addition broadened the company’s capability to support specialised markets requiring advanced sealing properties, durability and enhanced presentation.
