Inhaler Testing Automation & Lab Organization

Inhaler Testing Automation & Lab Organization

With automation equipment performing repetitive, time-consuming tasks, well-educated scientists and analysts can focus on completing higher-level, value-added work.

Along with freeing up analyst/scientist’s time, automated inhaler testing equipment in the lab provides additional benefits. Some of these benefits include:

Consistency: mechanical processing is always more consistent
Repeatability: automation eliminates large uncontrollable variables for more reliable results
Method transfer: easily prove effective method transfer from lab to lab, site to site, CRO to manufacturing, and analyst to analyst
Clarity: improves troubleshooting with less input variables into method and therefore analysis clarity
Cost: decreases long term cost of errors and troubleshooting

Aerosol-Neutralizers

Aerosol-Neutralizers

Aerosol neutralizers are an essential piece of many aerosol research studies because aerosol particles dispersed by nebulization, combustion, or powder dispersion are usually electrostatically charged.

Normally, a high level of electrical charge is undesirable because it increases the particle loss to the walls of transport and sampling systems, or it can affect filter-efficiency measurements.

To ensure that instruments operating on the electrical mobility principle work properly, aerosol particles entering these instruments require an aerosol neutralizer to impart a predictable charge distribution to the aerosol particles.

Neutralizers can be separated into two categories based on how they charge the particles. One group is the radioactive neutralizers, which use the emission of alpha (positive) or beta (negative) particles from decaying radioactive elements to impart charge to the particles. The other group is the non-radioactive neutralizers, which use electricity to generate x-rays or produce high voltages that can charge the particles directly.
Particle Counters & Detectors

Particle Counters & Detectors

Our family of particle counters and particle detectors contain instruments optimized for a variety of applications.

In environmental research and monitoring, customers face high concentrations in city centers, near freeways or harbors, or very low concentrations in remote locations which are used as reference sampling points.

In the laboratory, particle counters are often combined with particle sizers to measure size distributions.

Workplaces, hospitals, schools, residential homes and other sensitive environments prefer water-based Condensation Particle Counters (CPCs) to ensure the occupants’ safety and health.

Combustion aerosol has its own challenges, such as sampling the aerosol without changing it, or following regulatory directives for engine exhaust.
For the purpose of calibration, reference counting is typically performed with an Aerosol Electrometer.

Whatever your challenge is, TSI offers a solution. Let us help you to find yours.
