Permanent Magnets
For example, Elesa’s range of high quality permanent magnets in sintered hard ferrite, Aluminium nickel cobalt (AINiCo), Samarium cobalt (SmCo) and Neodymium iron boron (NdFeB) are structured to have one adhesive surface only with poles optimized and arranged in such a way that the whole magnetic energy is focused on the adhesive surface. The effect in the area of the magnetic field is limited by a shielded system, avoiding the magnetization of the surrounding objects.
Neodymium magnets are ideal for location and temporary fixing of workpieces or panels or for sensor holding, e.g. on conveyors or other machinery. Moving down the scale applications can be as varied as supermarket labelling, locating presentation materials, white boards, cabinet door closure or magnetic filtration, e.g. of metal particles in engine sumps or in machinery and equipment.
These high quality permanent magnets are available in flat format with or without, steel or stainless steel housings in lacquer or thermoplastic coating and in cylinder format with brass housed sandwich configuration. U Magnets and cylinder magnets in red lacquer with pass-through facility are also part of the standard series.

Electronic Digital Position Indicator
Explained Nigel Pritchett MD at Elesa (UK) “machine downtime for our customers and their end-users can become a major problem while they re-set each roller spindle manually. Fortunately, we have a solution readily available in the form of our unique wireless digital electronic positioning system.”
“These units are a like-for-like replacement for conventional items and the connected system allows up to 36 position indicators to be re-set all together from a PC link. This saves a great deal of time compared to re-setting each one individually for different packaging configurations.”
Elesa’s RF electronic positioning indicators are unique in the market, enabling wireless communication with a PLC. This results in faster, more efficient machine set-up and associated change over processes. The wireless system enables a quicker and more reliable machine set up - achieved by the use of a linked controller, which displays the initial set-up values on each of the electronic position indicators.
An operator can simply choose the appropriate menu, then quickly re-set each spindle to its correct start position and the machine is “good to go”. This saves large amounts of time and greatly reduces the possibility of human error every time the line is changed or recalibrated.
This flexibility enables the Elesa system to be adapted as a mainstream option on all such machines and ensures it may be retrofitted to existing installations when upgrading a complete facility.
Transfer Units
Ball transfer units aid the movement of flat sheet materials - steel, wood, plastics and similar. They are used for material feed to workstations, movement on transfer lines between workstations or assembly lines, also for moving of components, assemblies and finished packages. They are installed in factories, warehouses, loading areas and receiving stations for onward movement, generally under gravity or manual feed. Normally they are installed with the ball upwards but can also be used inverted as very low-profile castors.
UTB series ball transfer units are suitable for applications on transfer and conveyor lines or end of production lines. They offer linear and rotational movement with maximum cleanliness as they do not require lubrication. The UTB technopolymer ball option lends itself to handling loads with delicate surfaces while the stainless steel ball version is for handling loads with sharp or angular surfaces. Furthermore, since these are corrosion-resistant, it is possible to wash them.
ESD conductive units have an electro-conductive technopolymer body with volume and surface resistivity. The main ball is in stainless steel with internal support and transfer balls also in stainless steel. The mix of these materials prevents the accumulation of electrostatic charges so that UTB-SST-ESD ball transfer units are suitable for applications in "ESD PROTECTED AREA" (EPA) areas.
Elesa UTR roller transfer units facilitate both linear and rotary movement with a soft technopolymer roller. This is suitable for handling loads with delicate surfaces, and may also be washed frequently.
