Self Closing Valve

Self Closing Valve

A marine self-closing valve is an essential component designed to automatically revert to a closed position after manual operation. These valves are extensively utilised on ships to prevent unintentional fluid discharge, enhance safety, and ensure adherence to pollution and fire prevention regulations.

What is a Marine Self-Closing Valve?

This type of valve features a spring-loaded mechanism that opens upon manual activation, typically via a lever or push button, and automatically closes once the operator releases it. In its default state, the valve remains closed, thereby preventing the unintended discharge of fluids such as fuel, oil, or bilge water.

We offer a comprehensive range of Self-Closing Valves from leading manufacturers. For further information or to discuss your specific requirements, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.

Reliance RWC 100 Series Pressure Relief Valve 3/4

Reliance RWC 100 Series Pressure Relief Valve 3/4" x 1" F x F 3.5 Bar - PREL100015

Introducing the PREL100015 High Capacity Sealed Heating System Pressure Relief Valve, designed to efficiently discharge water from the system at a predetermined pressure during instances of overpressure in heating systems, particularly in larger capacity setups. The Reliance Valves 100 Series Pressure Relief Valves are expertly crafted from hot-pressed brass, making them ideal for safeguarding closed-circuit wet heating systems from excessive pressure build-up. Featuring an outlet that is one size larger than the inlet, this valve ensures optimal discharge flow rates. The design includes a separate seal seating from the diaphragm, enhancing scaling resistance, while the cover is made from OT58 brass for additional durability. The PREL100015 is available in a range of sizes to accommodate most installations and has a pressure range of 2.5 - 5.0 bar, with the specified response pressure clearly indicated on the twist cap. The appropriate valve size is determined based on the heat output of the boiler, as outlined in the maximum heating capacity table.

Features and Benefits:

  • Designed for high flow rates, perfect for larger capacity systems.
  • Outlet significantly larger than the inlet for superior discharge capabilities.
  • Provides essential protection against overpressurisation in wet heating systems.
  • Improved diaphragm design offers enhanced resistance to scaling.
  • Cartridge design allows for easy servicing and replacement without the need to reset the response pressure.
  • Adjustable set pressure range from 2.5 - 5.0 bar to fit any system requirement.
  • High lift design increases discharge capacity when needed.
  • Suitable exclusively for heating applications.

CONCOA 455 Series Regulator

CONCOA 455 Series Regulator

Four-port, electroless nickel-plated forged brass, single-stage regulator for highly corrosive gases

The CONCOA 455 Series regulator is designed for primary pressure control of highly corrosive gases such as chlorides, sulfides, and other acid-forming gases. It features a Dursan®-coated capsule and diaphragm, providing superior corrosion resistance compared to 316L stainless steel or exotic metals like Hastelloy®. For fluorine service, a passivated stainless steel CAPSULE® and diaphragm create a fully resistant assembly. Deep purge assemblies are recommended to prevent moisture from forming acids in the gas stream.

Features:

  • Dursan® internals for enhanced corrosion resistance

  • CAPSULE® seat with 360° integral filtration

  • Captured vent protects against diaphragm failure

  • Spectrometric helium leak-checked for integrity

Specifications:

  • Max inlet pressure: 3000 PSIG (210 BAR)

  • Body/Bonnet: Electroless nickel-plated forged brass

  • Gauges: 2½ in (63 mm) Monel®

  • Seat: PTFE

  • Nozzle: 316L stainless steel (passivated) or Dursan® (non-passivated)

  • Filter: 10-micron stainless steel or Dursan® mesh

  • Temp range: -40°F to 140°F (-40°C to 60°C)

  • Diaphragm: 316L stainless steel (passivated) or Dursan® (non-passivated)

  • Cv: 0.2

  • Helium leak integrity: 1 x 10⁻⁸ scc/sec

  • Ports: 1/4 in FNPT

  • Conformance: CGA G-4.1, ANSI/ASME B40.1, PED 2014/68/EU, CRN OH5216

FSDIFFA - Forward Acting Rupture Discs

FSDIFFA - Forward Acting Rupture Discs

**FSDIFFA Forward Acting Rupture Discs: Reliable Pressure and Vacuum Protection** The FSDIFFA Forward Acting Rupture Discs are advanced composite devices designed from four essential components: a slotted, perforated metal section, a sealing membrane (available in PTFE along with various other metallic and non-metallic materials), a protective cover, and a calibration ring. These rupture discs are expertly engineered to be installed between flanges, making them ideal for use with gases and liquids under static conditions and at low pressure levels. FSDIFFA discs respond swiftly to excessive pressure, achieving total opening in just a few milliseconds, thus providing effective valve protection. Additionally, supports can be included for vacuum or counter-pressure applications. These composite rupture discs also offer the capability for simultaneous protection from both pressure and vacuum. **Specifications:** - **Sizes:** Ranging from 1" (DN25) to 40" (DN1000) - **Materials:** Available in Stainless Steel, Alloy 201, Alloy 400, Alloy 600, Alloy 625, Alloy C276, and Titanium - **Rupture Pressure:** Ranges from 0.5 to 5 bar g, depending on material and diameter - **Tolerance:** From +/- 5% to +/- 20% - **Temperature Range:** PTFE/PFA membrane can withstand temperatures of up to 265°C, with certain membranes enduring up to 480°C - **Operating Margin:** Up to 70% - **Fragmentation:** None (membrane only) - **Use Under Valve:** Yes - **Corrosion Resistance:** Good – can be enhanced with a PTFE membrane - **Linings:** Yes - **Container:** Mounted between flanges - **Rupture Sensor Options:** Electrical, Magnetic, Inductive, Optical - **PED Certification (CE Mark):** Available - **ATEX EX II 2 GD Certification:** Available For further inquiries, please download our Rupture Disc Request Form and send the completed document to sales@flowstar.co.uk.
