When the outlet pressure dips below the designated lower switch-off point or ascends beyond the upper switch-off point, the switch socket linked to the SSV diaphragm shifts to an appropriate disengaged position. This action releases the engaging mechanism's balls, allowing the SSV screw spindle to be retracted. Consequently, the closing spring exerts pressure on the SSV valve plate against the valve seat, ensuring a gas-tight closure of the gas flow. The SSV can only be manually reopened and secured in the open position. To facilitate this, the outlet pressure at the measuring point must either fall below the upper response pressure or rise above the lower response pressure by at least the re-engagement differential amount (Δp).
