FSSCRA - ASME Approved Rupture Discs
The FSSCRA rupture disc is an ASME-approved compression or reverse-acting disc featuring precision micro-scored petals with four, six, or more radial scores. This design ensures rapid, full opening while reducing the risk of petal separation, making the disc suitable for both low and high burst pressure applications.
Designed for use with gases and liquids (with a gas cushion), the FSSCRA performs reliably in cycling and pulsating conditions without compromising safety margins. The disc responds to overpressure within milliseconds and opens cleanly without fragmentation, making it particularly well suited for protecting safety relief valves.
With an operating-to-burst pressure ratio of up to 95%, the FSSCRA delivers excellent efficiency and stability. It offers strong corrosion resistance, which can be further enhanced with an optional PTFE lining, and in many applications can operate under full vacuum without the need for additional supports. The design complies with ASME Section VIII, Division 1 requirements.

Fire Valves
A marine fire-fighting valve is a specialised component installed on board ships as part of the fire main system, which provides seawater to combat fires across the vessel. These valves play a crucial role in controlling, directing, and isolating the water flow to fire hydrants, hoses, monitors, or sprinklers, ensuring the safety and effectiveness of fire-fighting efforts.
Purpose of a Marine Fire-Fighting Valve
- Deliver seawater from the fire pump to designated fire zones.
- Control or isolate sections of the fire main during emergencies.
- Interface with equipment such as fire hoses, foam systems, and water spray nozzles.
