New Module Flooring System from C/S supersedes Standard Entrance systems
Construction Specialties’ (C/S) new high specification module flooring system, Floorometry, takes entrance matting to a superior level.
Recently awarded a prestigious Red Dot Design Award in the ‘InteriorDesign’ category, Floorometry offers architects, specifiers and designers a striking alternative to ‘standard’ entrance flooring systems. Available in an assortment of finishes - including stainless steel, granite, terrazzo and marble - it is especially suitable for schemes seeking to create grand entrance spaces.
Comprising 45.7cm2 modules, the system can be installed just like tiles
and fixed using epoxy resin or concrete. Specifically developed to allow
design flexibility, whilst enhancing durability, ease of maintenance and
safety, Floorometry is certified by the National Floor Safety Institute (NFSI) to conform to slip and wear resistance specifications. Furthermore, each component is proven to withstand heavy rolling loads and provide pedestrian stability.
“The new Floorometry system marks a significant development in entrance flooring,” said Andy Moul, Pedisystems’ product manager at C/S. “Installing four to six metres of the flooring in the traffic direction can help prevent up to 85% of dirt from entering a building.”
To prolong the life of interior floor finishes, Floorometry is designed with
durable properties to reduce the ingress of abrasive soil. The modular
system features a removable surface layer, which is designed to aid
thorough cleaning and overall ease of upkeep. Each component also
features a dirt trapping recess that ensures building interiors are kept
clean and dry.
“Pedestrian safety is a vital factor to consider when installing entrance
flooring and the reduction of soil and moisture is paramount for avoiding
slipping incidents,” said Andy. “With this in mind Construction Specialties
has designed a system that dramatically reduces these problems, using
four components that work together to protect interior floors.”
A removable top surface and drain assembly ensure stability, aided by
the slotted or perforated design, which allows any dirt or water to fall
through. A bond breaker sheet separates this top layer from the mud
plate and collects any loose dirt and water. Finally, a mud plate is fitted on top of a flooring epoxy, providing a permanent and stable foundation.
Floorometry is developed for use alongside a range of flooring materials
including carpets, plastic and stone. Each of the four systems is manufactured flush to the surrounding floor finish to suit a variety of building interiors.
