The Computers that Push Technology
Computers have come a long, long way since they were first invented. What kinds of computers are now pushing the world of technology? And what is it about them that make them so much more advanced?
Computers have come a long, long way since they were first invented. In size they have gone from taking up an entire room to now fitting quite comfortably in the palm of one’s hand. Power wise, it is commonly known that the computer in your mobile phone is far more powerful than the computers that helped navigate Apollo 11 to the Moon. It is not just the computer that is becoming more advanced, thanks to Wi-Fi and wireless technology our computers no longer make that awful dial tone sound when they connect to the internet. The hum of the machine is a lot quieter than previously and the sound technology from speakers is clearer and sharper than ever before.
What kinds of
computers are now pushing the world of technology? And what is it about them
that make them so much more advanced?
Tablets. Super small, touchscreen tablets are now a number of things all on one
platform. It can be a movie theatre, a book, access to the internet, a game or
even an artist’s canvas. Businessmen use tablets for working on the go as they
are a perfect commuter size. The amount you can do on it is endless. The first
popular consumer mainstream tablet device was Apple’s iPad in 2010. It was created
as a hand held touchscreen device that relies entirely on the internet to download
software. The iPad is a great portal to connect to web browsing, email and
accessing media such as photos, videos and audio.
Rugged Computers. These are the toughest, most hard withstanding
computers you can come across. Built for server conditions these reliable devices
are not delicate or easily broken. They work brilliantly for outdoor work where
they may get wet, dusty or are required to operate during strong vibrations.
They are sturdy inside and out ensuring they can work at the best ability no
matter what the conditions. Usually they come with an inbuilt sealed keyboard
so that there is no risk of moisture and dust getting into the interior. They
also have a scratch proof screen so that if they get knocked against rocks or
hard sandy conditions they are still readable. They come in various sizes: from
laptops to tablet PCs and personal digital assistants. The type of industries
that use a rugged computer are outdoor trades such as public safety workers,
manufacturing, retail, healthcare, transport services and the military.
Fanless PCs. A fanless computer makes little noise. You can get fanless personal
computers for professionals that work with audio and video who need background
noise to be as silent as possible. Fanless PCs keep the temperature inside a
computer down using other methods of cooling other than a fan. A fanless
computer means it can run twenty four hours seven days a week without failing
so they often come in the form of industrial rugged computers.
Whether you are in the
market for tablets, rugged computers or a fanless pc make sure you
put in a lot of research and consideration before you buy to ensure you get the
right product for your needs.
