Daisy Chain HD System links up to 100 Displays using Video over IP Technology
ITM Components are pleased to announce the release of the latest Daisy Chain HD System from Gefen.
You can now distribute video to multiple displays in series using Video Over IP techniques. Using CAT-5e cables in a Daisy Chain mode, and linking from one display to the next, you can join up to 30 displays. This number can rise to 100 displays by using a combination of Daisy Chaining and Tree Topology distribution. This ingenious system is composed of three modules: the Sender, which connects to the HD source, the Splitter module, which connects to the Sender unit using a CAT-5e cable, and the Receiver unit which connects via CAT-5e cable to the Sender or the Splitter, and via HDMI cable to the display. The Splitter unit also has an HDMI output to link to the display. The Sender, Splitter and Receiver units streamline the extension of HDMI and control signals to provide an elaborate network of displays. They also enable the routing of IR-control back from each display location to the source. Additionally, RS-232 commands can also be executed over this daisy-chained network to deliver commands such as the turning on and off of displays.
The Daisy Chain system is able to provide resolutions of up to 1080p Full HD and 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA) for up to 100 Hi-Def displays. Providing a low latency of less than a frame allows all displays to reproduce audio and video in flawless syncronisation.
This product, being easily installable and extendable, is a perfect choice for Digital Signage applications and for commercial entertainment environments, (such as bars, restaurants and retail locations), that play back content using multiple screens. Each CAT-5e cable between the Source, Splitter and Receiver units can be extended up to 100 metres, allowing for the creation of an endless array of HD distribution topologies.
