Celltron − Your entry into shaken cell culture!

Bottmingen, July 2nd, 2012 − With the Celltron, INFORS HT launches a new small shaker which has been especially developed for use in CO2-incubator

The new shaker is ideally suited for the corrosive conditions in the incubator and provides a route into shaken cell culture. The key point is: Due to the minimal power consumption of only 4 watts, there is practically no heat dissipation into the incubator. This guarantees constant temperatures in the incubator and ideal conditions for cell culture.

With the Celltron, INFORS HT launches the first small shaker which has been ideally adapted for use in CO2-incubators. This allows researchers all over the world an entry into shaken cell culture, where they can profit from considerably improved cultivation results.
A special challenge in the development of the new shaker was the high humidity and the resulting corrosive conditions in the CO2-incubator,” says Dr. Daniel Bruecher, Product Manager Shakers INFORS HT - ”We solved this problem by the use of premium materials, providing the shaker with a watertight seal and an external operating panel.“

Another well-known issue when using shakers in incubators is the additional heat emission from the shaker, states Dr. Daniel Bruecher. ”That’s why we challenged our engineers to reduce the power consumption of the shaker drive to an absolute minimum.

An unbelievable 4 watts is sufficient to power the Celltron and there is practically no heat dissipation into the incubator.”
An additional plus for the cell culture user is the certified antimicrobial surface of the shaker, which reliably kills microorganisms.
