BeaconMedaes Emergency Reserve Manifold − High Flow Performance.
BeaconMedæs have developed a new Emergency Reserve Manifold incorporating the primary manifold header. We are proud to introduce the highest specification ERM on the market. Function A medical manifold is used to deliver gases such as oxygen, medical air, nitrous oxide, etc into the medical gas pipeline system (MGPS).An emergency reserve manifold system should be provided to form a secondary source of supply, for emergency use, or to permit servicing or repair. The supply should be designed to provide the design flow of the primary system and have sufficient connected capacity to supply the pipeline for at least four hours.
Regulators The highest specification of regulator is recommended for the demanding medical environment, where flow demand can change frequently. In order to achieve the high flow rates of the primary manifold, typically 1,000 lpm at 4 bar pressure two stages of regulation is provided. This is to guaranty an adequate flow output at 10% drop from dynamic to static pressure, critically when the cylinders are depleted.
Halogenated Polymers The BeaconMedæs ERM includes a bespoke 1st stage regulator designed for use with medical applications. HTM02-01 requires consideration to be made as to the use of non halogenated polymers within the high pressure gas stream. This is due to halogenated polymers releasing toxic by-products when burned.
Although the risk is low the impact could be severe, therefore BeaconMedaes ensure that no halogenated polymers are present in the high pressure gas stream to guaranty patient safety in the event of third party fire. Space Saving Emphasis was also placed on reducing the footprint, as space within the manifold room can often be confined. By integrating the primary manifold header within the ERM control panel we have reduced the width by 24% over our previous model, making the product quick and easy to install.
Conclusion The BeaconMedæs ERM meets the requirements of UK Department of Health HTM02-01 and is CE marked according to the MDD 93/42, offering our customers long lasting peace of mind. With high flow, easy installation and maintenance the BeaconMedæs ERM is the leading product in its class.
