Leading food technology firms team up again

Systems Integration (SI) and Dimaco have joined forces again to offer the latest pack verification technology.

The software and vision system specialists have teamed up to offer a paperless pack verification and traceability solution for retail packers.

Bob Dyche from Dimaco said;

“Smart Check verifies that the correct labels have been applied to the pack and all essential pre-printed and over-printed data, such as barcode, dates, price and weight, are correct and legible. Images are recorded and stored centrally by Integreater® which alerts operators to any discrepancies. The solution helps processors to avoid label mix ups, prevents poor quality barcodes reaching the checkout and reduces the risk of product recalls.”

Smart Check is the only pack verification solution on the market that can check hand applied promotional labels visually, without the need to include barcodes. This allows food processors to avoid the cost and disruption associated with producing new artwork.

SI’s MD, Rob Stephens, added;

“Integreater® works off a central QC database that stores all weigh, price and outer case label data. When a product is selected to run on the line, Integreater® can automatically populate the required data to ‘set up’ the various printing systems in the factory. This information is also sent to the Dimaco vision system so it is able to scan and verify the retail and outer label data, checking dates, label type, and promo labels. In addition to verification and validation, the system also identifies throughput line performance.”
