switchable privacy glass

17 July 2015 | Wardray Premise

Wardray Premise Ltd now offer switchable / privacy glass in their products.

Switchable glass can be fitted in Wardray RF shielded or lead shielded products, providing privacy at the touch of a button in MRI and x-ray facilities.

Switchable / privacy glass windows are transparent when the mains electrical current is operating. Then at a simple switch of a button the glass, in its unpowered state, is an opaque window. This provides instant privacy without the need for blinds. Switchable glass (mains powered) for RF shielded windows, lead shielded windows and x-ray protective screens is available up to a single sheet size of 2000mm x 1000mm.

Wardray also offer switchable vision panels which can be inserted in lead shielded doors, whilst ensuring the integrity of the radiation shielding. This version of switchable glass is battery powered. The switchable / privacy vision panel is positioned in the lead shielded door with the battery concealed, but accessible for ease of replacement. Such battery systems have a 2 year average battery life; they do not require mains power; and have a low battery warning LED. Battery powered switchable glass vision panels are available in various shapes and sizes upon request.

All switchable glass units are low maintenance and suitable for use across hospital departments. In addition, they can be retrofitted into an existing Wardray product.
