Demco transform Wandsworth Museum into relaxing Library

The 1.5 million development of the Wandsworth Town library building was a complex project re-scoping the old Museum building into a modern spacious, relaxing environment for library visitors.

Located opposite Southside Shopping Centre on Garratt Lane, the library is a key part of the £1bn regeneration of Wandsworth town centre.

The project shows Demcos''  flexible and adaptable approach in adapting some of the old shelving from other libraries and blending with a newer generation of Bomefa 100 shelving. The introduction of glass end panels has unified the space creating a very on trend library interior.

Meryl Jones, Assistant Head of Library and Heritage Service said;

“On this project, which was really difficult, I had so much help and so much encouragement and so many visits that I really could not have done it without Demcos'' support.”

The library was officially opened by Mayor of London Boris Johnson.
