Carlton Services Celebrates Growth on its 47th Year!

Carlton Services marked 47 years in the refrigeration, air conditioning, and catering sectors in May. The business is in its second generation of family leadership and has grown since the 2020 pandemic.

Managing Director of Carlton Services, Adam Carlton, said: "I was incredibly fortunate to inherit a strong core team of eight individuals when I moved into the management of the company —three refrigeration engineers, three catering engineers, and two office staff who had all worked together for many years whilst I was on the tools as an engineer and they supported me as I made the move into the office to take a managerial role.

"That group, along with myself, have continued with the culture and standards that my father built the business on, and we have added to it well with people that have the same values."

The company employs 19 full-time staff, adding two new refrigeration engineers, a refrigeration apprentice, a catering manager, and two additional apprentices since 2022. Long service is a hallmark of the business, with one employee reaching 30 years and four others passing the 20-year mark. The best example is Lee, who marks his three decades with the company in August.

Adam said: "Lee was my dad’s first apprentice—and I was Lee’s. "He was my right-hand man when I managed the refrigeration department, and I always told him I wanted us to go on this journey together. "I said one day I’d move more centrally to oversee the whole business operation and he would run the refrigeration and air conditioning department.

"And here we are. "I’m incredibly proud of Lee—for his growth, loyalty, and belief in me to see that plan through."

The catering department has also grown since a 2022 restructure. Aaron, who joined from Hobart, now leads the department after starting as an engineer under Adam’s management. Adam also credits its office team for helping navigate through the challenges of post-pandemic recovery and recent changes. Adam said: "I honestly don’t think we’d have made it through without them. "Their support, knowledge, and consistency have been invaluable." Looking ahead, the company remains committed to innovation and sustainability. Adam said: "We’ve always prided ourselves on staying ahead of the curve. "But we’ve never lost sight of what really makes Carlton Services special—our people."
