AP Technologies to Showcase Advanced Photonic Solutions at September UK Trade Shows

Specialist photonics distributor AP Technologies will be exhibiting at two major UK technology events this September, showcasing components designed to help engineers develop the next generation of high-performance instrumentation.

The company’s focus is on providing robust, compact, and low power-consumption components that do not compromise on analytical performance.

The Water, Wastewater & Environmental Management (WWEM) exhibition at the NEC, Birmingham (17–18 September), runs alongside Air Quality & Emissions (AQE). AP Technologies will be on stand WW S52. The display will be centred on solutions for environmental monitoring, featuring technologies that enable reliable data collection in field-deployed instruments. Products on display will include:

  • Light Emitting Diodes: A broad range of products from industry-leading manufacturers including Opto Diode Corporation (ODC), Sensor Electronic Technology (SET); Seoul Viosys and Epigap-OSA span deep UV to mid-infrared. Of particular interest will be Silanna UV’s new generation of UVC LEDs for water analysis and chemical-free disinfection, with models delivering an impressive 2% wall plug efficiency (WPE) at the highly effective germicidal wavelength of 235 nm.
  • LED-based systems: Fibre-coupled LED instruments from LumeDEL provide a bright, stable, and low-power light source ideal for benchtop testing and development. Adaptive Lighting’s high-power systems include area illuminators, line- and ring-lights including multi-wavelength systems.
  • Compact spectrometers: OtO Photonics‘ wide range of compact, ultra-compact and high resolution spectrometers from 180nm to 2500nm offer the durability required for field use while maintaining the data consistency expected from laboratory instruments.
  • Silicon Photomultipliers (SiPMs): Broadcom’s a robust, low-voltage alternative to traditional PMTs for developers of portable radiation detectors.

Many of these products are also directly relevant to visitors to the AQE show, with the addition of:

  • MIR Detectors: Opto Diode’s Lead Sulphide (1-3.1 µm) and Lead Selenide (1-5.5 µm) detectors are widely-used in emissions monitoring due to their performance, high reliability and batch-to-batch consistency. A range of package options includes open flat plate, hermetic and cooled with a choice of window material and filter.

The following week, at Photonics UK (Excel Centre, London, 24–25 September), the company will exhibit on stand C26.

In addition to the technologies shown at WWEM, the stand will feature advanced sensing solutions for industrial automation. A key highlight will be Broadcom’s Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensors. These are fully calibrated modules with an integrated laser and processor, designed to simplify the integration of accurate 3D sensing for applications in robotics and autonomous systems.

A notable feature at both events will be the presence of product managers from both Silanna UV and OtO Photonics, providing visitors with an opportunity for in-depth technical discussions. AP Technologies encourages attendees to visit its stand to discuss specific project requirements and suggests contacting them in advance to arrange a meeting.
