Your LinkedIn Profile & Your CV

Whilst in addition to the recruiters comments, a CV is a hiring manager's first impression of you as a candidate, they will often also review your profile on Linkedin.

On your CV utilise a summary section to tell them what you're about, tell them about your biggest successes and highlight why you are a great fit for this job. It should be more than just a full list of all the jobs you've held and dates held. On this point do make sure that your dates for roles match up on Linked in and your CV! I have seen examples where dates or role titles are slightly different, and whilst this may be accidental or a casual mistake, it could be interpreted as either lack of attention to detail and accuracy or possibly something is not quite truthful.

 A LinkedIn profile and summary may include similar information, presenting your professional identity and “brand”, along with maybe a little more expression of your personality and less formality, but still the two should match up on key points.
