Seafield''s Oceo Spa crowned European Residential Spa of the Year at Professional Beauty Awards 2011

Wexford''s very own luxury Oceo Spa, located at Seafield Golf and Spa Hotel, has beaten Europe''s leading spas to win a the industries Oscars!

Oceo was shortlisted in the Residential Spa of the Year category and beat stiff competition from three category finalists to pick up the 2011 award at the final which was held at London''s Intercontinental Hotel on Park Lane.

Judging across the awards was conducted by an independent panel of experts and every spa, on the shortlist was visited by a mystery shopper to ensure an unbiased approach and fairness at all stages. This annual event recognises those who make a real stand out contribution to the industry and Seafield''s Oceo Spa was ranked No. 1.  

A rigorous judging process commenced last December, beginning with an application process which involved and examined all areas of the business.  Items included revenue reports, marketing plans for the year, information on treatments available and details on staff evaluation and training. 

Following this Oceo Spa were informed that they were shortlisted as one of the four finalists for the award and would receive two visits, one from an announced official visitor, all of whom are industry professionals and assessors, the other from an incognito mystery shopper. 

Both visitors inspected the premises, spoke to the team, had treatments and filed a detailed report for the panel of independent judges.  The expert judges then questioned the visitors further and made their final decisions during our round-table judging days in London.
