Humideco steams ahead at Milton Keynes

At the offices of Milton Keynes council, Humideco have replaced old electrode boiler steam humidifiers with Heatersteam units.

Operating directly from mains water with a high mineral content, the original steam humidifiers had been subject to frequent scale build up, and required regular maintenance. Additionally they were operating inefficiently, due to poor positioning and steam pipework layout.

Humideco redesigned the arrangement to increase efficiency, in consultation with Milton Keynes Council, who opted for Heatersteam direct heating element humidifiers, in conjunction with reverse osmosis water treatment for each plant room. The benefits of this approach were that the heatersteam units could operate with the greatly improved, almost demineralised water produced by the reverse osmosis units, and therefore, virtually maintenance free steam humidification was realized, producing savings for the council, across the board.
