Couture Uniforms at St Pancras Renaissance Hotel

Expert uniform company Fashionizer has created a 35-piece bespoke uniform collection for the team at London''s St Pancras Renaissance Hotel.

As the chosen uniform designers for the entire staff of the beautifully renovated Victorian property, Fashionizer''s luxury staff uniforms were integral to the successful image positioning for the major new London opening and have already been featured in a range of publications including Grazia magazine and The Sunday Times.
Fashionizer''s core design purpose was to ensure that each uniform conveyed a strong association to the building''s original architecture and symbolised the traditions of the Midland Railway while also being contemporary in both design and concept.

The company''s comprehensive service included creating and manufacturing each uniform piece as well as offering staff fitting and a made-to-measure tailoring service for special sizes. Drawing inspiration from the hotel''s restoration and design, the Fashionizer uniforms combine traditional British craft with contemporary, fashionable concepts. Colours used included rich brown tones in keeping with the hotel''s intricate wooden panelling while Barlow Blue − named after William Barlow, the designer of St Pancras train station − was also incorporated in the palette to reference historical railway styles.

Suits were made from traditional English wool fabrics in designs woven specially, while geometric images from the building''s original features were developed into jacquard patterns for ties. The door staff and porters'' uniforms referenced both Victorian railway and military style with rows of special Midland Railway dragon gold buttons (the Wyvern was the emblem of the railway), traditional collars and deep cuffs with cufflinks.

Elsewhere within the collection, front-of-house outfits featured a more contemporary spin on the door staff''s attire, keeping the militaristic high collared jacket and modern fabrics but boasting a more high fashion fit especially for ladies. From the front-of-house to the security employees, every high quality Fashionizer creation for the iconic new hotel is intended to emphasise the beauty of the Victorian property and achieve a consistent, elegant identity while promoting the ultimate in comfortable and attractive staff clothing.
Founder and director of Fashionizer, Debbie Leon, commented: “We were honoured to be a creative part of the rebirth of this very fine hotel, and to have created uniforms that we hope will symbolise the identity of the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel for many years to come.”
