Breathing Air Quality Testing

Legislation states that air supplied to breathing apparatus should be tested at least every three months to ensure that it meets currant standards laid out in (BSI BS529=2005) and (COSHH EN12021=2014) implementing an effective respiratory protective device programme”.

Air Quality Limited will carry out the testing of your breathing air and provide you with a certificate of testing. In the event that a test fails we will recommend the necessary corrective measures and arrange to retest the breathing air again after the corrective measures have been done. We will also schedule future breathing air tests to ensure continued compliance with legislation and undertake to advise you of any changes in legislation that may affect your business.

Environmental Air Testing

Air Quality Limited can test and monitor the breathing air quality in most environments including the testing of air quality in offices, computer rooms, factories, garages, as well as testing of outside ambient air. Tests can be performed according to customer's individual specifications for whatever contaminants may be suspected to be present. A full report with clear explanations will be provided and we will work with you to help prevent any recurrence.

Lung Function Testing

Lung function tests are required on a yearly basis for employees using isocyanate paints in order to prevent the occurrence of occupational asthma.

Air Quality Limited will perform these tests on site and issue a report of the results at the time of the test.

We can provide advice on the types of Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE). We can supply the RPE for uses in your field of work to ensure the best possible protection. We will also provide training in the use and maintenance of the Respiratory protective equipment ensuring your employees good health.

Isocyanate Clearance Time Testing

Spray booth clearance time should be measured annually and the time recorded and displayed on the entrance to the spray booth. This is required to ensure that painters and other staff do not enter the booth without RPE until it is safe to do so.

Air Quality Limited will perform the test and provide the required certificate for display outside the booth.

Compressor Certification

Air Quality Limited will perform an initial visual inspection of the compressor also accessing its data screen. We also service, maintain and repair compressors.

Tank Certification

Air Quality Limited will inspect an air receiver both visually and with ultrasound to prove it is in safe working order and is within it's allowed corrosiuon tolerance.

Legionnaires Disease

Legionnaires disease is contracted by inhaling water droplets containing the bacterium Legionella Pneumophilla which are suspended in the air. The bacteria may be found in many purpose built water sytems such as cooling towers, evaporative condensers and any form of water storage tank (for example a whirlpool spa). Recent outbreaks have highlighted the potential severity of contracting this disease − a case in Kent in August 2009 proved fatal.

Air Quality Limited will arrange for the testing of a sample of your water by a UKAS accredited laboratory with a report of their findings issued within 21 days of the sample reaching the lab.
