Armoured Assemblies

Alker is pioneer in the field of innovation, design and manufacture of fibre optic assemblies for harsh environments. There are many applications requiring fibre optics to work in extreme temperatures, wet or dry environments, or enduring excessive vibration. We are continually expanding the array of connectors we can successfully armour to withstand the demands expected in extreme conditions.

Bifurcated / Trifurcated Assemblies

Custom Micro Armoured Multimode Fibre Optic Bundles tailored to meet almost any fibre or requirement, from as small as 1.5mm outer diameter. Ideal for multiple applications such as; splitting light from a source to several outputs; or merging light from various sources into a single output.

With a never-ending array of specialist fibres and options available Bifurcated/Trifurcated armoured assemblies can be tailored to almost any design, and specification, with variations on input and output legs: 2×1, 3×2, etc. Fibres used in each leg can be the same or different, based on the optimisation of fibre core or wavelength range or both.

Alker Splice Pipe

Introducing the Splice Pipe range—an enhanced, patented enclosure developed to address the global issue of fibre optic splice damage. Designed as an inline splice enclosure, it is built to perform in diverse environments, including direct burial, pole-mounted, aerial, and underground chamber installations. Requiring just 35cm of fibre on each side for splicing—significantly less than the traditional 1.5 metres—its compact design delivers a minimal footprint, making it ideal for increasingly limited space in chambers and cabinets.

Alker Fibre Optic Specialists Ltd, established in 1985, is one of the oldest Fibre Optic solution providers and Fibre Optic Terminations houses in the UK. Specialising in providing high quality engineered fibre optic solutions for use in harsh environments, offering full-service solutions from consultancy and design through to manufacture.
