At J Hirst we employ a highly experienced team of qualified engineers specialising in the repair, rewind and overhaul of a wide range of AC and DC motors, from FHP to 200KW. We are also AEMT qualified and approved to carry out hazardous area electric motor repairs.We stock ABB, WEG & ELECTRO-ADDA Motors and we are approved ABB motor repairers and stockists.
Pump Repairs
Our engineers have expierience working with various types and manufacturers of pumps. Quotation and assessments are carried out prior to the commencement of work, repair and replacement of worn parts is undertaken and pressure tested where applicable.

A maintenance and repair service is available for Gearbox’s for all types of industries and applications both large and small.Preventative maintenance, repairs and supply are offered with the understanding that the cost effectiveness depends largely on the effect on the production down time.

J Hirst Electric Motor Rewinds has been serving clients since the late 1920s, bringing nearly 90 years of expertise and adapting to the evolving needs of the industry.
We understand the need to control operating costs and recognise that maintenance budgets must align with production downtime. We work closely with our clients to ensure repairs and motor replacements are cost-effective and maximise efficiency.
Our engineers are apprentice-trained with at least 25 years of industry experience, and most are certified for Hazardous Area (EX) repairs and AEMT approved. As ABB-approved motor repairers and stockists, combined with our ISO 9001 management system, we provide clients with confidence in our expertise, quality, and reliability.

J Hirst (Electrical) is a valued member of the AEMT, with technicians certified to repair Hazardous Area Ex equipment. We are listed on the AEMT International Ex Register and hold ISO 9001:2008 certification, ensuring all repairs comply with BS EN 60079-19 standards.
We have expertise in servicing a wide variety of equipment, including motors, pumps, fans, and generators, across protection types such as Flameproof (Ex d, Eex d, Eex de), Increased Safety (Ex e, Eex e), Non-Sparking (Ex n, Ex na, Eex na), Dust (tD), and other standards for Hazardous Area apparatus.
We are based in Morley, just outside Leeds, with easy access to the M62 and M1 motorways. For our clients’ convenience, we offer free collection and delivery services during normal working hours.
