Since the early 1940’s Majestic Transformer Co. have been manufacturing electrical transformers. Initially, most of these were replicas or repairs for existing equipment, but over the years, a design facility was introduced to enable us to manufacture new components for new pieces of equipment.

Now, the majority of our products are custom designed and manufactured to meet the requirements of a particular application. Typical applications for this type of electrical transformer are motor control, machine tool control, control panels, alarm systems, distribution boards etc. The transformers can be step down and step up, or isolation, supplied as open types with universal frames for vertical or horizontal mounting with either terminal blocks, rail terminals or nickel plated brass stud connections.

A wide range of supply voltages can be accommodated on the primary windings at any frequency, typically 50 Hz, 60 Hz, or 400 Hz. In addition, multiple secondary windings can be accommodated anything from a few volts up to several thousand volts. Currents from a few milliamps up to several thousands amps. Complex or high voltage windings may require a larger frame size to be used to accommodate the windings and insulation. Transformers in this range can also have fuses fitted on the top panel.

Open Frame Control Transformers Three Phase

Typical applications for this type of electrical transformer are motor control, machine tool control, control panels, machine voltage conversion, distribution boards etc. The transformers are supplied as open types with steel angle frames for mounting on either terminal blocks, rail terminals or nickel plated brass stud connections.

Virtually any combination of voltage and current can be supplied on primary and secondary. A range of supply frequencies, 50 Hz, 60 Hz or 400 Hz can be accommodated. In addition, multiple primary and secondary windings can be accommodated. Complex or high voltage windings may require a larger frame size to be used to accommodate the windings. Transformers in this range can also have fuses fitted on the top panel.

Over the years Majestic Transformer Company have been asked to design and manufacture a wide range of transformer rectifier power supplies to suit an enormous range of applications.

Some of these units have been as simple as fitting a bridge rectifier onto the output winding of a single phase or three phase transformer. Others have been significantly more complex involving variable transformers, switches, meters, smoothing circuits, line insulation monitors. They have ranged from a few volts at 7000A to inject a current into railway conduction rail systems for testing purposes, up to 5kV at a few amps for running and testing high voltage motors and many, many things in between.

We can offer a full range of ferrite cored transformers and inductors primarily utilising the Ferroxcube and Epcos ranges of materials, although we do have access to a wide range of other manufacturers ranges. The majority of these products are manufactured to our customers designs and specifications covering a wide range of industries from defence and petrochemical through to OEM’s and research establishments.

We are able to design & manufacture a wide range of custom built mains and output audio transformers and also DC smoothing chokes. All hand crafted at our Poole, UK factory. We do not hold a stock range of these components, preferring to match exactly the individual requirements of our customers. We also hold a wide range of specifications from previously built products.

These units can be finished fully shrouded for top chassis mounting or half shrouded for drop through chassis mounting. The audio mains transformers, as with all our mains transformers, have an earthed interwinding screen and can also be fitted with an external copper ‘Q’ band. Other special finishes e.g chromed shrouds, can be accommodated on request subject to quantity requirements.

We hold a comprehensive range of winding details relating to vintage Leak, Quad, Mullard, Vox and many others and can manufacture new components to ‘original’ specifications and have many years’ experience in building output transformers for both the musical instrument (guitar) and Hi-Fi markets. We have recently developed a range of replacement transformers for the Quad II amplifier which can either be supplied as loose components to fit into the original cans. Or, if you do not want to carry out the messy task of un-potting the original transformer or simply do not have the original, we can now supply these complete with original style cans to match the original chassis.

We are the sole UK distributors for Filec (http://www.filec.nl/ ) variable transformers. We are able to offer one of the largest range of variable transformers, sometimes referred to as regulators, and accessories in the UK. Originally designed by Philips they have been sold in the UK for over 45 years. Their reliability and constant quality being well proven with many thousands of units being sold. With a wide range of input voltages and a frequency range between 50 and 400 Hz, they are able to satisfy most voltage and power control requirements.

Single phase and three phase models are available from 0.5 to 325 amps and above. The smallest being encapsulated and compact in design. Regulators can be supplied as single or ganged units for incorporating in your own equipments and designs or purchased as a complete power supply in one of our standard enclosures. Special enclosures are also available so that we can cater for all your requirements. Our total engineering package can help by supplying enclosed air cooled equipment with stabilisers, metering, fuses, contactors and many other featured accessories. We are able to manufacture a wide range of chokes and inductors for a variety of applications.

They can be simple chokes ranging from a few microHenry’s up to several hundreds of Henry’s and currents from a few milliAmperes up to several thousand Amperes in any combination.
