The materials the valves are constructed from are all corrosion resistant, tough and durable. This ensures long life plus efficient service when needed, can used with lock nuts to avoid theft.

It is essential that you keep your Dry riser in good working order. It is highly recommended that you have a 6 monthly visual inspection and 12 monthly hydraulic test on your system. Your Buildings insurance is probably invalid should the buildings Dry Riser (or other fire protection equipment) not be properly maintained.

It is estimated that over 50% of all Dry Riser Systems in England and Wales are currently not being maintained in accordance with current BS 9990-2015 standards. All Dry Riser systems should be pressure tested to 12 bar of water for a minimum of 15 minutes once a year. Or after use by the fire brigade. The system should be checked for any vandalism that might effect its operation in the event of an emergency.

The servicing of hose reels is governed by BS-EN-671-3, and this recommends that you regularly have these checked and inspected by a competent person and or company.

The British Standards require you have a flow rate and pressure test, with a service label attached to the reel, as well as a pressure test on the hose itself every 5 years.

Although hose reels are not as common anymore and some Fire authorities have advised them to be removed and replaced with a alternative means of fighting a fire, whether this be a dry riser, fire extinguisher or sprinkler system, in some cases this isn’t feasible.

On successful maintenance completion of your hose reels you will be issued with certification for each individual hose reel stating they are in good working order, and can be used in the event of a fire. If your systems fail we carry a large stock and can usually solve any issues on the spot.
We also offer decommissioning services, if your hose reel system is no longer required for whatever reason we can safely isolate and remove and cap of the incoming water supply.
