Rack Security
EDP provides solutions to improve the security of racks housing IT equipment. Whilst security of data from cyberattacks is vital an area of security that often gets overlooked is the physical security of the equipment itself. Data Centres themselves are secure facilities, but once in the data hall how secure are the racks themselves? Rack manufacturers tend to use standard locks which are usually keyed the same from that manufacturer, meaning a key for one of their racks will unlock any of their racks.
Where there is a requirement to protect high-value asset EDP Distribution offers several options to provide Rack Access Control, allowing controlled access to the server racks. Know when your racks were accessed and who by. Receive alerts when access attempts are made, whether authorised or unauthorised, manage the security of rack proactively.

Other Products and Services from EDP Europe Limited
Environmental Monitoring
EDP iSensor is an Environmental Monitoring controller that is a dual powered 1U rack-mountable device capable of monitoring up to 24 iSensorPlus Temperature & Humidity sensors. Optional sensors are available to monitor dust particles and volt free contacts. Access can be through a web browser via the internal webserver or integrated into a remote management platform (NMS, BMS, DCIM etc.) using SNMP.
High and low alarm thresholds can be set on individual sensors for both temperature and humidity, which when triggered will send alerts via SNMP traps than can enable e-mail notification

Water Cooled Racks
Water Cooling is an alternative way to cool IT equipment. It is a particularly effective way to cool high-density server installations. EDP Distribution supplies Water Cooled rack solutions from ColdLogik.
ColdLogik produce a range of Rear Door Coolers (RDC) capable of cooling heat loads from 29kW to up to 200kW per rack. Where water cooling is required in conjunction with Aisle Containment Systems ColdLogik also provide InRow Coolers (IRC).

IANOS Fibre Management System
EDP Distribution distributes the IANOS fibre management system from HUBER+SUHNER. IANOS is the next generation fibre management system that facilitates fast, flexible and future-proofed fibre connectivity within Data Centres and Enterprise IT environments. IANOS is a high-density fibre management system that accommodates up to 72 LC-D or MTP ports in each 1RU rack space. The design allows mixed data and applications to co-exist in the same space.
IANOS is built around a 1U or 4U chassis into which are inserted modules for different fibre applications. Modules are available for patching LC, SC or MTP cables, transitioning from MTP to LC, Converting MTP connections to different base rates and LC splicing. The flexibility modules provide enables a simply and effective way of meeting the data requirements needed for day one but with a way to upgrade to faster data rates as the network evolves.
