PVC Cables | PVC Sheath Cable

Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) insulated and sheathed cables are used in a wide variety of applications from fixed wiring to flexible installations, and are available in a number of sizes, colours and conductor materials.

As PVC is a thermoplastic polymer, PVC properties make it suitable for applications where the cables may be exposed to high or low temperatures (including use of arctic-grade PVC for extreme low conditions), or where protection against UV light is required to avoid degradation. PVC insulation is frequently used owing to its good insulating properties but low corona resistance, and is best suited for low and medium voltage cables and low frequency insulation requirements. The benefits of PVC as cable insulation and sheathing material include its chemical stability, robustness and durability.

Arc Welding Cable

These robust welding cables are designed to carry high currents under rough usage conditions and are capable of enduring the high temperatures implied in their purpose.

Eland Cables supplies a comprehensive range of welding cables, including 0361TQ cable in black and orange, and H01N2-D & H01N2-E cable. This range of cables is suitable to provide the connection between the welding apparatus and the welding tool used in manual and automatic applications found on construction sites, and in welding robots on assembly lines used by the shipbuilding and automotive industries.

We supply high performance flexible welding cables manufactured in accordance with British Standards BS638 Part 4 (now withdrawn), BS EN 50525-2-81 and numerous International Standards and certifications.

Fibre Optic Cable | Optical Fibre

Eland Cables supplies a range of fibre optic cables for both indoor and outdoor installations. These are interchangeably referred to as fibre optic and optical fibre.

Fibre optic cables consist of glass threads, each capable of transmitting digital data modulated into light waves. They effectively send information coded in a beam of light through a glass or plastic pipe. A key advantage of fibre optic cables over metal conductor cables is their superior performance in terms of bandwidth and therefore data carrying performance. Optical fibre cables are generally lighter and less susceptible to electromagnetic interference, however optical fibre tends to be more fragile than cables with a metal conductor.

The applications for optical fibre range from carrying telephone calls (up to several million calls per cable) to high speed data transfer for vast computer networks.

Power Distribution | Power Networks Cable

We supply a range of power network cables for utilities grid providers (including DNO-approved cables) and local power distribution systems cabling for the Building & Construction industry.

Our cables are manufactured in accordance with a number of British, European and International standards including BS7870 and IEC60502.

Eland Cables’ range of Copper (Cu) and Aluminium (Al) Concentric and Split Concentric cables to BS7870 and 11kV and 33kV cables specifically designed and approved for use on the areas of the UK national grid maintained and operated by UKPN, SSE, WPD, NPG, ENW and SPEN. These DNOs to provide the final connection to residential, commercial and industrial properties. Local network distribution cables are also used for sub-main distribution and for street lighting. These are available with oversheathing in Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) or Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH). Low Voltage Waveform cables are also available for each of the UK DNOs.
