Mud Box

Mud Box

A marine mud box is a specialised coarse strainer installed in the suction line of seawater systems on board vessels, typically situated before the seawater pump. Its primary function is to filter out large debris such as seaweed, sand, mud, and marine organisms from the seawater intake, thereby safeguarding downstream equipment, including pumps, heat exchangers, and piping systems.

Key Benefits of a Marine Mud Box

  • Protects seawater pumps and piping systems from blockages and potential damage.
  • Prevents fouling within cooling, ballast, firefighting, and general service systems.
  • Captures large solids that could otherwise pass through the sea chest grating.

We offer a range of marine mud boxes from several leading manufacturers. For specific requirements or inquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
