IECC Scalable Goes Live at Swindon B

The first live application of our revolutionary new IECC Scalable signalling control product is now underway at Swindon.

After a successful commissioning over the weekend of 17th March, IECC Scalable (which replicates the functionality of IECC Classic) is operational at the Swindon B Signalling Centre, providing a sophisticated signalling control facility, and in future the product will offer a wealth of new and important benefits.

The IECC at Swindon was installed in 1993 and controls high speed passenger and freight trains around the busy junction at Didcot on the main route from London to Bristol, Cardiff and Oxford. The installation at Swindon is a pilot and Network Rail has already ordered Scalable for a two further projects in the Cambridge area (Ely/Norwich) and Harrogate. In the Cambridge area IECC Scalable is the control system for Smartlock® supplied by Signalling Solutions Limited as one of Network Rail’s modular signalling pilots.

IECC Scalable is a new hardware and software platform for all sizes of signalling project, with excellent price performance for both the small renewal of a mechanical signal box and the large Regional Control Centres. IECC Scalable replicates all of the features of the Classic IECC system and provides a new and innovative software architecture which will deliver very significant improvements in operational flexibility.
