Are you planning a marquee event? Don’t forget the ventilation!

Marquee events can get hot and stuffy in warm weather. Prihoda fabric ducts are a stylish solution, ensuring the right level of air circulation to keep the marquee environment fresh and pleasant for all occupants.

If you’re planning an event in a large marquee and are worried it will be too hot and stuffy, fabric ducts can be the answer.

Why use ducting in marquee events?

Marquees can become extremely hot in warm weather, acting as a greenhouse and accumulating heat unless the hot air is vented out. Simple openings and vents may not be enough in high attendance events or if the marquee is on the larger side. In some marquees, small fans are placed to circulate the air and prevent excessive heat and stale air.

However, they can be noisy and lead to draughts − not ideal in a structure where the walls can flap about! Using simple fans may be enough in a smaller marquee, but in a larger structure, they may not adapt very well to the area’s layout, leading to spots with little or no air movement, while other places have noticeable draughts. Instead of relying on fan placement, we can use fabric ducting. It’s always bespoke, and the layout of the ducts will work with the marquee’s layout, ensuring the air is distributed evenly throughout the space.

Using fabric ducting also allows the fan units to be placed away from any important event areas, minimising problems with noise. Fabric ducts are very lightweight and require very little hardware to install, so even the lightest structures can safely support our fabric ducting.

For temporary installations such as marquees, we offer a unique material option that is even more lightweight than the classic material − 80g/m3 vs the standard 220g/m³.

Full design service

Designing for temporary and marquee applications is different from other fabric or traditional duct designs. Besides considering the overall weight of the ducts and installation, special care must also be taken to minimise issues with duct movement or vibration. Duct vibration can travel through the marquee’s structure and cause unwanted noise, so preventing it is vital to a successful fabric duct installation.

Yes, but will they look good?

We understand the importance of the décor in a marquee event such as a show or conference. One of the advantages of using fabric for ducting is that they can be made in any colour, print, pattern, motif, etc. You can even use them to display logos and slogans to strengthen your brand. So, no matter what environment the ducting will be placed in, it can be designed to complement the surroundings. We have designed and installed fabric ducting for marquees and temporary structures all over the UK.
