Suffolk Site Visit Snapshot
JMS Engineers recently revisited a local Suffolk project to review foundation works located adjacent to an existing well – a sensitive interface that required careful consideration to protect both the new structure and the historic feature.
During the visit, the JMS structural team worked closely with the contractor to assess progress and address potential load distribution challenges. Following this review, JMS Engineers issued updated mark-ups and structural calculations to incorporate a new central steelwork connection. This adjustment removed the need for an internal pier, simplifying the layout, reducing construction complexity, and maintaining full structural integrity.
The result? A more open internal space for the client, efficient build sequencing for the contractor, and a cost-effective solution delivered without compromising safety.
JMS Engineers continues to work collaboratively with contractors across Suffolk and beyond, ensuring every design not only meets regulatory and safety standards but also integrates seamlessly with real-world build conditions.
