Polycote Partners with Yinka Ilori to Transform Milton Keynes Station Square with Vibrant Floor Mural

Polycote teamed up with Yinka Ilori to transform Milton Keynes Station Square with a 3,000 m² vibrant floor mural, using fast-drying epoxy, anti-graffiti coatings, and bespoke colour matching to bring the city’s spirit to life.

Polycote, the UK's leading manufacturer and supplier of industrial floor paints and coatings, is proud to announce its collaboration with renowned British-Nigerian artist Yinka Ilori MBE on the "Walk With Your Dreams" installation at Milton Keynes Station Square.

Commissioned by the Milton Keynes Development Partnership (MKDP) and City Council, the expansive public artwork, unveiled on October 2, 2025, spans over 3,000 square meters and features a kaleidoscopic design that reflects the city's multicultural identity and visionary ambitions.

Polycote's high-performance flooring solutions played a pivotal role in bringing Ilori's vision to life. The company's Quick Coat EP epoxy paint system was selected for its ultra-fast drying time and durability, essential for the high-traffic environment of the Station Square. A total of 6,400kg of Quick Coat EP in 13 bespoke colours, along with 936kg of OT Floor Primer, were supplied to create the vibrant and lasting finish.

To protect the artwork from potential graffiti and vandalism, 730kg of Polycote's Graffitex anti-graffiti coating was supplied to complete the installation. This high-performance, water-based coating enables easy removal of graffiti without damaging the underlying mural, ensuring the artwork's longevity.

The mural was expertly executed by Shier Coatings, approved Polycote installers and specialists in commercial paint spraying and epoxy floor installations. Their precision and professionalism ensured the seamless application of both Quick Coat EP and Graffitex, delivering results that exceed expectations.
