Sensor Access launches Studio Guard Tour App for smarter film studio patrols

Sensor Access Technology has launched StudioGuard, a mobile patrol tracking application created for security teams working across film and television studios, production campuses and other large operational sites.

The app gives guards a clear workflow in the field while supervisors receive a chronological record of the completed tour. It is suited to routes covering sound stages, workshops, storage areas, loading bays, offices, car parks, plant rooms, backlots and perimeter locations.

StudioGuard Tour is designed to make routine patrol reporting easier to complete, easier to review and less dependent on paper records or dedicated patrol hardware.

With StudioGuard

  • Confirm attendance at specific points along the patrol route.
  • Capture your notes or photos to report incidents or concerns.
  • Record time and position using GPS, for verification of patrol coverage
  • Generate reports based on completed patrols for review and auditing.

Built for the way studio security teams work

Film and television studios can contain many different working environments within one site. Security teams may need to cover public entrances, active production areas, workshops, offices, technical spaces and remote perimeter points during a single patrol. The route can change as productions move, areas close or operational priorities shift.

StudioGuard Tour replaces handwritten checkpoint logs with a straightforward mobile process. NFC tags are installed at agreed patrol points. As the guard reaches each location, a tap of the phone records the checkpoint together with its time and GPS position. There are no checkpoint codes to type, and the guard can continue the patrol with minimal interruption.

A visual record of the route

Each completed tour produces a structured record showing checkpoints in the order they were visited. Times, GPS coordinates, notes and photographs can be reviewed together, helping supervisors confirmcoverage, identify missed locations and follow up on incidents or maintenance concerns.

Supporting accountability and faster follow-up

Patrol records are most useful when they show more than a list of checkpoint names. StudioGuard Tour allows the guard to document damaged doors, lighting faults, obstructions, safety hazards, unusual activity or other observations while still on the route. The evidence is timestamped and included in the final report, giving the appropriate team a clearer starting point for investigation or remedial action.

For studio operators, production companies and security providers, the result is a simple way to improve route visibility and create a repeatable record of completed patrols across complex sites.

StudioGuard Tour has been developed by Sensor Access Technology Ltd., building on the company's experience in access control, mobile security tools, identity management and operational reporting. The new product extends that experience into a focused patrol application designed around the practical needs of film and television studio security teams.
