Meritics to Exhibit at the British Zeolite Association Conference 2026
We’re really looking forward to exhibiting again at the British Zeolite Association (BZA) Conference, taking place from 23–25 September 2026 at Durham University.
The BZA Conference is always a great opportunity to catch up with researchers, scientists and industry professionals working across the fascinating world of zeolites and microporous materials – and we’re excited to be heading to the beautiful city of Durham once again.
This year, we’ll be bringing along a selection of our particle and materials characterisation technologies, with a particular focus on solutions for understanding surface area, porosity, particle size, particle shape and surface properties.
Characterising Zeolites from Surface Area to Particle Shape
Zeolites and molecular sieves can be challenging materials to characterise. Their complex pore structures, high surface areas and varied particle morphologies mean that having the right analytical techniques is essential for understanding how they will perform in applications such as catalysis, gas separation and environmental technologies.
At the conference, our team will be on hand to discuss how different characterisation techniques can be used to build a more complete picture of these materials.
Gas Adsorption & Porosity
We’ll be showcasing solutions from AMI Instruments for detailed surface area and pore structure analysis.
The AMI-Micro Series is designed for high-precision micropore analysis, providing detailed information on BET surface area, micropore volume and pore size distributions. These measurements can be particularly valuable when investigating the structure and performance of zeolites and other microporous materials.
We’ll also be discussing our AMI-Sync and Vapor Series, which provide automated solutions for gas and vapour adsorption measurements, helping researchers investigate adsorption behaviour and interactions between materials and different gases or vapours.
Particle Size & Shape
Understanding crystal and particle size, as well as morphology, can be just as important as understanding internal pore structure.
Our Bettersizer S3 Plus combines laser diffraction with dynamic image analysis, providing particle size information alongside a wide range of particle shape parameters. This makes it possible to look beyond particle size alone and gain a better understanding of particle morphology.
For smaller particles and nano-zeolite applications, the Bettersize BeNano Series combines techniques including Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) and Electrophoretic Light Scattering (ELS) to measure particle size and zeta potential in suspension.
We’ll also have solutions from Beckman Coulter available to discuss, including the Multisizer 4e for particle counting and characterisation where accurate particle concentration and quality control are important.
More Than Just Instruments
At Meritics, we know that not every laboratory has the same requirements. Sometimes you need a new instrument, sometimes you need to carry out a short-term project, and sometimes you simply need some samples analysed.
As well as supplying and supporting a wide range of characterisation instruments, we offer instrument hire and contract sample analysis through our UK-based laboratory. Our technical team can also help with method development, application support and training.
So, if you have a new zeolite project, a tricky sample, a measurement you’re struggling with, or simply want to talk through what’s possible, come and have a chat with us at the BZA Conference.
We’re always happy to talk science – and we’re particularly looking forward to hearing what you’re working on.
Come and find us at the Meritics stand from 23–25 September at Durham University.
We look forward to seeing you there!
