Do I Need a Concrete Base?

This is another question we’re regularly asked.

No, not usually.

Many people see the word concrete in the installation instructions and assume they need to pour a large concrete base underneath the entire climbing frame.

In most cases, this is not what the manufacturer means.

There is an important difference between:

• Concrete anchoring – where the supplied ground anchors are secured in concrete beneath the ground to hold the climbing frame securely in place.
• A concrete base – a large solid slab of concrete covering the play area.
