D W Plastics’ well-equipped factory has a wide range of extrusion equipment which allows the manufacture of a great variety of made-to-order plastic extrusions and PVC products for customers in many industry sectors. PVC Safety Products

D W Plastics' technical team welcomes the opportunity of working closely with customers to develop bespoke plastic extrusion components for safety products to ensure that they comply with hygiene, fire and Health & Safety regulations. Products such as protective edge and corner strips, hygienic cladding profiles, fire blanket holders, and sealing strips, to name but a few, can be extruded to customer specifications.

Our company can assist in the development and manufacture of a wide range of products for horticulture and gardening. We manufacture plastic extrusions for irrigation systems, PVC edging products, various gardening ties, and also composters, plastic posts, & synthetic decking products.

Profiles for Retail Display

D W Plastics can help you in the design and manufacture of PVC display accessories, such as open and covered label holders, ticket & shelf strips, price holders, corner frames for graphic display panels, channelling for display cases, gaskets & seals, poster hangers, clip-on edging, data strips, connector profiles. All our plastic extrusion products are made to order. We do not keep any stock but attempt a quick turnaround from date of order to delivery.

Standard Plastic Extrusions

In addition to a wide range of custom-made PVC extrusions, D W Plastics has the tooling for a variety of high-quality, standard, made-to-order plastic extrusion products. We do not hold stock but attempt a quick turnaround from date of order to delivery, normally within 2 to 3 weeks.
White plastic profiles made from rigid PVC, such as self-adhesive mini-trunking, partition joints and division bars, angle profiles used for beading, corner covers, guards and protectors, capping and edging trims (J and C joints), H and T-sections, U-channels and plastic strapping are available in different sizes. Please see the photos below to view some of the standard extrusion products.

Rigid Plastic Extrusion Profiles

Rigid PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride or UPVC) can be used for thermoplastic extrusion and is supplied in a variety of colours and strengths. Unplasticised PVC one of the stiffest polymers at ambient temperatures and is very durable. It is extremely versatile and can be used for UPVC profiles for internal and external applications.

Flexible Plastic Extrusion Profiles

Close attention to detail during the design phase of the PVC extrusion profile can ensure a reliable supply of cost-effective, good quality plastic extrusions. The choice of thermoplastic material used for the extrusion profile will depend on its application and specification requirement, such as thermal, UV and chemical resistance, flame retardancy, smell, and impact strength. We will be happy to help with advice on the suitability of materials.

Co-Extruded Plastic Extrusion Profiles

DW Plastics has experience in the manufacture of co-extruded plastic profiles either a dual hardness (rigid/flexible PVC) co-extrusion or a two-colour co-extrusion where two colours are extruded together.
The co-extrusion process allows two or more materials to be joined together using two or more extruders and one tool. A co-extrusion requires compatible PVC materials that will bond together to form a strong finished part.

Cross Head Plastic Extrusion Profiles

Cross-head extrusion allows, usually metal strips or cables, to be inserted into a profile.
The cross-head process can also allow two or more materials to be joined together using two or more extruders through the same die. It allows compatible materials to bond together to form a finished part.

Colours for Plastic Extrusion

D W Plastics’ expertise is in the efficient manufacture of bespoke plastic extrusion products which can be supplied in many different colours. Our colour matching service ensures that the correct requirements are met right from the outset. We can offer a comprehensive range of PVC extrusion colours, and several material options that give a clear finish.
The colour can be matched to a sample supplied by the customer, or alternatively to a recognized standard or architectural colour references.

Recycled Material

In tune with environmental concerns, at D W Plastics Ltd all materials are recycled either back into the original plastic profiles or into other PVC products. We also purchase large quantities of recycled UPVC window grade material and other reprocessed compounds, which helps to reduce the quantity of plastic profiles sent to landfill. In many instances customers ask for a percentage of recycled materials to be used in their extrusion products.
Reprocessed material can be extruded to make extrusion profiles where a specific colour and excellent finish are not required.

In-house tool making facilities and our skilled engineers allow us to provide comprehensive tool production and maintenance services.
D W Plastics has a fully equipped tool room that has made tooling for a wide range of thermoplastic extrusion profiles and compounds.

The in-house wire erosion facilities enables the development team to keep a tighter control on the manufacture of the dies and formers and keeps the tooling costs competitive for our customers.

In addition to its fully equipped tool room that makes tooling for a wide range of thermo plastic extrusions, D W Plastics has wire eroding facilities which enables the development team to keep a tighter control on the manufacture of the dies and formers for our customers’ plastic extrusion tooling requirements.
