Pavement Lights

Pavement lights can either be supplied pre cast or cast on site by skilled Luxcrete personnel. Pre-casting usually speeds up site installation and allows work to continue even during very cold weather. In situ casting enables larger areas to be formed and is more suitable for accommodating site falls and levels. However, careful consideration must be given to the size and shape of all panels to minimise the possibility of shrinkage. Our technical department is available to provide further advice.
A selection of typical joint and edge details are available and variations are of course possible. The proper design and construction of adjacent structures and finishes by others is essential to avoid the possibility of water bypassing the perimeter seal.

Pre Cast

Luxcrete products can be supplied as pre cast units either to be fixed by the general contractor or by our experienced installation teams. All our products are made to order in our controlled factory environment. Pre casting usually speeds up site installation and allows work to continue during very cold weather. Luxcrete panels can be manufactured to suit most shapes, including square, rectangular, circular, triangular, multi sided and irregular.
There are, however, limitations to the size of panels we are able to cast and transport. For further details contact the Luxcrete technical advisory department.
We can supply only or offer a supply and fit service by our installation teams. All our products are made to order in our controlled factory environment. Cast In Situ

All of our products can be cast in situ by our highly skilled and dedicated personnel. In situ casting does allow for larger areas to be formed and is more suitable for accommodating site falls and levels. However, careful consideration must be given to the size and shape of all panels to minimise the possibility of shrinkage. Certain site conditions and locations may dictate in situ casting. Our technical department is available to provide further advice.

Surveys

Our representative can attend site to conduct a free survey, compile a detailed report, and offer recommendations and advice regards your project needs. Site surveys and quotations are available without obligation. Survey reports available on request. Please contact our estimating department.

Maintenance

We offer remedial and maintenance works to replace lenses/glass blocks. Repair and reseal pavement lights, smoke outlet panels, floor lights and roof lights, fire escape hatches and cellar flaps. We also offer a regular servicing programme for our fire escape hatches.
Damaged or cracked glass blocks or lens units can be removed and individually replaced. It is recommended that our skilled operatives carry out this work. Please refer to our technical advisory department. Luxcrete repair and reseal pavement lights, smoke outlet panels, floor lights and roof lights. Mastic perimeter sealants or asphalt can be replaced if the adjacent finishes are removed or disturbed in any way.
Fire escape hatches and cellar flaps- Repairs to the complete hatch assembly must only be undertaken by trained Luxcrete personnel, please contact our technical department.

Fire Escape Hatches

All premises with basements and sub-ground vault areas must have an effective means of escape in the event of a fire. For many years Luxcrete have enabled clients to conform to statutory building regulations by installing our tested and L.F.E.P.A (London Fire & Emergency Planning Authority) approved fire escape hatches over basement areas. With the high cost for floor space particularly in commercial premises, turn unused cellars and vaults into valuable work areas by fitting a Luxcrete fire escape hatch assembly.
Our hatches can be installed in isolation over existing apertures or incorporated within new Luxcrete pavement lights as direct replacements for old and obsolete cast iron units. We can supply and fix escape hatches in either in situ or pre cast formats. Please see our extensive range of pavement lights and smoke outlet panels. When installed, our hatches are effortless to operate with an easy-release catch and powerful gas strut damper springs. Luxcrete fire escape hatches are fabricated from pre-formed mild steel sections with a corrosion protective paint finish as standard, galvinising or zinc sprayed assemblies can also be supplied- refer to our technical department for further details.

Roof & Floor Lights

We offer the widest range of durable, tested and certificated pre cast or insitu constructed panels within the UK. Most of our floorlight constructions can be supplied with matching stair treads to provide total continuity within a project. Cell Unit Security Panels
