Cabinet X-ray Scanners

Cabinet X-ray scanners provide a compact, cost effective threat detection solution without the space requirements and operating costs of a conveyor based X-ray system. At Todd Research we have extensive experience with cabinet scanners and offer a choice of three innovative products in this space, each catering for different business requirements.

Conveyor X-ray Scanners

Todd Research is a leading supplier of conveyor x-ray scanners and baggage scanner systems. Our image recognition technology quickly and easily identifies the material composition of scanned objects and enables (TIP) Threat Image Projection; a virtual image management tool, which ensures that screening performance is always maximised.

Device Containment

Hand Held Metal Detectors

Todd Research offers a range of high quality handheld metal detectors (also known as ‘metal detection wands’) for use in conjunction with metal detector archways or in isolation for certain applications. Currently we offer three models, with each option satisfying varying requirements to suit a range of customer locations and threat types.

Metal Detection Systems

Todd Research offers a choice of five state-of-the-art metal detection systems, ranging from various walk-through detectors for security screening to the innovative TR360 Search Pole, which uses ferromagnetic detection, making it ideal for detecting items containing significant amounts of ferrous materials, such as knives, guns and mobile phones.

Mobile Trace Detection

With today’s heightened threat of terrorism, security professionals at nuclear power plants, embassies, high-risk facilities, transportation, and government agencies are exploring explosives trace detection equipment, which also can be used to detect narcotics, as part of a robust security strategy to help protect the public and vital infrastructure from threats.

Security Vehicles

When you need to set up robust security operations in a temporary or outdoor location, our security vehicles can provide a tried and tested solution. For use at festivals, public ceremonies, sports events and other outdoor functions, our mobile check point and scan truck will help keep your guests or members of the public safe from security threats.

TR40 Cabinet X-ray Scanner

The very latest generation TR40 +Smart Scan cabinet scanner from Todd Research provides a new benchmark of threat detection and image management for compact cabinet scanners. At the heart of the TR40 +Smart Scan is a complete new software platform, managing the functionality and an intuitive user interface via a touch screen monitor. The smart card login means the TR40 +Smart Scan can be configured to enable data collection of individual user sessions further enhancing the effectiveness of the operators.
This is the largest cabinet scanner in the range, the generous chamber can accommodate mail sacks, large boxes and courier deliveries, with its one touch operation the TR40 allows rapid processing of scanned items all within a compact footprint.

Threat Management

Relocation

With over 50 years of experience handling X-ray equipment, we offer a bespoke relocation service for organisations looking to relocate and install their current X-ray scanner at a new location.

Hire

For one-off events or temporary use, it’s often more practical for businesses to hire rather than purchase our products. We offer hire periods from one day to six months, with delivery, installation by a trained engineer and collection included in the price.

Mailroom Design

We provide a range of design services to assist customers in creating the most effective mailroom to combat the threat of suspicious items. With in depth knowledge of PAS 97:2015, a specification for mail screening and security, we can provide guidance on everything you need to help identify and implement appropriate postal security and screening measures.

Powder Threat Management

We can teach your staff how to spot the signs of harmful substances, with robust guidelines for the handling and safe disposal of powder and biological threats.

Registering With HSE

It’s mandatory for employers to notify the HSE before using X-ray equipment. Our HSE management service will help you to ensure complete compliance.

TR-VS Vehicle Scanner

The TR-VS (vehicle scanner) is an effective and intelligent solution for seaports, airports, border crossings, which helps to identify prohibited items and check whether the contents of containers match the documentation.
A dual-energy technology with automatic color coding and material discrimination allows to distinguish organic, non-organic materials and metals.
The TR-VS provides a high resolution lateral view of the scanned vehicle or cargo, scanning up to 100 vehicles per hour.
The TR-VS has a small footprint, low staffing requirements and usually doesn’t need a special security infrastructure.
