Tunnel boring machines (TBMs) are very advanced equipment used as an alternative to drilling and blasting through rock. Mechanised tunnelling has become more important with the rapid growth and expansion of underground construction in recent years.

TansforgeUK have become an established manufacturer of bored tunnel components for civil, mechanical and electrical engineersthroughout the whole tunnel excavation and underground infrastructure tunnelling process. We’ve manufactured a range of equipment and components for tunnelling projects including shaft steelwork and fabrication segments as well as design and manufacture of tunnel boring machines for use in projects across the globe.

We are fully equipped to fabricate mild and stainless steel and supply a wide range of steel products from structural, secondary and support steelwork to bespoke individual fabrication projects. We have a large suite of welding procedures for each material. Projects undertaken range from minor works to heavy-weight steel fabrications.

Holding CE Marking of fabricated structural steelwork BS EN 1090 to Execution Class 3 (EXC3) certification provides evidence of appropriate Factory Production Control (FPC), ensuring the traceability of every component from source, through the fabrication process and on to final delivery to site.
