IPAF Training

IPAF - 2 subjects, 3a, 3b
A mix of theory and practical training, this course is designed to enable operators to manoeuvre, drive and position the machine safely and proficiently. It can be undertaken on scissor lifts, booms or trailer mounted platforms.
IPAF Operator 1a or 1b
A mix of theory and practical training, this course is designed to enable operators to manoeuvre, drive and position the MEWPs safely and proficiently. Courses can be undertaken on scissor lifts, boom lifts, trailer mounted or truck mounted platforms.
IPAF Harness Training
Identification of appropriate protection equipment and use, correct condition and fitting of harnesses are examined within the course which covers a range of MEWPS. However, it can be tailored to offer candidates achievement testing on specific machines − please remember to highlight requirements when booking.

New Roads & Street Works Training
New Roads & Street Works (NRSWA) training we offer is in line with The New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, which places a duty on any person or organisation undertaking work involving the installation, renewal, maintenance or inspection of underground apparatus in any street or road to ensure that work is under the control of competent persons.
NRSWA Supervisors (LA, S1-S5 & S7)
To provide delegates with the skills and knowledge to perform Supervisor duties to the standards prescribed by SQA in-line with the NRSWA Act 1991, in order to safeguard themselves and others.
Location and Avoidance of Underground Apparatus
This course is designed to make candidates aware of the dangers involved in excavating on public highways and private land and train them to detect and avoid most buried apparatus.
NRSWA Signing, Lighting and Guarding
This course will certificate the successful candidate to undertake the setting out of traffic lights, signs, cones and barriers. As a Supervisor setting out traffic signage you will need 01 and S1
NRSWA Reassessment
This 2 day course is to refresh the knowledge of the delegates in preparation of the question papers that are to follow, this will be done by PowerPoint presentation and delegate / instructor interaction.
Delegates will then be required to sit a question paper for each unit. There will be a duration allowed of 30 minutes to complete each paper and 80% is the pass rate on each paper.
At the end of the 2 days there will be an opportunity for delegates to re-sit question papers for up to 2 units should they fail the required pass mark on their first attempt.

Asbestos Awareness Training
This course which complies with HSE requirements is a form of training suitable for all employees whose work could forseeably expose them to asbestos (Regulation 10 - control of Asbestos At Work Regulations 2006).

Confined Spaces Training
Course overview
Operative training for any individual who enters spaces such as manholes, shafts and chambers. This course is designed to provide delegates with a thorough understanding of confined spaces, associated dangers and the ability to enter, work and leave them safely by horizontal and / or vertical entry.
Who should attend?
This programme is designed for managers, supervisors and operatives who may be required to make an emergency excavation from a confined space using escape breathing apparatus.

Conduct an entry into a confined space using escape breathing apparatus and appropriate ancillary safety equipment, in a safe and efficient manner.

First Aid Training
Course overview
To ensure delegates have a full understanding of the basic principles to be carried out in the event of an accident in the workplace.

Abrasive Wheels Training
Course overview
To provide delegates with a thorough understanding of and/or the hazards associated with the use of abrasive wheels and to comply with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) in the safe mounting of abrasive wheels and discs on portable machinery.
The practical session includes fitting correct disks and cutting different types of materials.
Who should attend?
This programme is designed for any person who may be required to use abrasive wheels in the workplace or requires familiarisation with the associated regulations.

Course overview

IOSH Training
IOSH Managing Safely - 3 day course
This condensed three day course covers the same content as the IOSH four day course, simply makes it more convenient for companies and organisations to spare their employees from business to attend training.
IOSH Managing Safely
The aim of the course is to ensure that safety requirements are appreciated by people employed as line managers and enable them to review their own departmental systems for safety, introducing new controls or implementing changes as appropriate to make their work place safer.
IOSH Working Safely
The IOSH Working Safely course is a basic introduction for all levels or personnel who are non-health and safety experts. The training will give staff the information they need to keep themselves safe at work.

NEBOSH Training
NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health
On completion of the training delegates attending will have the skills and knowledge to identify procedures and systems within their organisation to minimise the risk to persons within the organisation and the skills to develop safe working procedures. The recommended minimum private hours and background reading is 49 hours.
NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health & Safety
On completion of the training delegates attending will have the skills and knowledge to identify procedures and systems within their organisation to minimise the risk to persons within the organisation and the skills to develop safe working procedures. NEBOSH guidance on course study time includes an element of private hours study. The recommended minimum private hours and background reading is 56 hours.
NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management
The NEBOSH National Certificate in Environmental Management or NEBOSH Environmental Certificate for short covers the practical issues of managing environmental risk and environmental health and safety. NEBOSH guidance on course study times includes an element of private hours study. The recommended minimum private hours and background reading is 33 hours.
