The PREL104017 High Capacity Potable Water Pressure Relief Valve is designed to safely discharge water from the system when cold water over-pressurisation occurs in an unvented cylinder. This high-flow valve suits larger capacity systems, protecting them from the risks associated with excessive pressure. The Reliance Valves 104 Series High Capacity Potable Water Pressure Relief Valve features a pre-set and locked pressure setting; if the system exceeds this limit, the valve will lift from its seat, allowing water to discharge safely into the waste system. The outlet connection is one size larger than the inlet, ensuring that the valve can manage a high-capacity discharge effectively. This valve acts as the primary safety device in an unvented system. Various pressure settings are available, ranging from 3.5 to 8 bar, along with multiple connection sizes to facilitate flexible installation.

Excess flow valves are expertly designed to prevent pressure build-up in the space between the rupture disc discharge and the second safety device. As rupture discs function as differential pressure devices, it is crucial to avoid pressure accumulation to ensure proper disc activation at the specified bursting point. Excess flow valves are typically employed in conjunction with rupture discs and safety valves, or when multiple rupture discs are arranged in series. These valves automatically close when subjected to the flow from the rupture disc discharge. Available in ¼” and ½” sizes, excess flow valves can also be customised with T connectors, nipples, and pressure gauges upon request. All accessories for rupture discs are manufactured from high-quality stainless steel.
