Notts Sport South Licensee Completes New Practice Nets at Thatcham Town Cricket Club

Notts Sport is pleased to reaffirm the successful delivery of the three-lane practice facility at Thatcham Town Cricket Club, installed over a year ago and officially opened on Friday 2nd August 2024 by the Mayor of Thatcham, Suzanne Adamantos.

The club’s previous nets were removed as part of essential flood defence works carried out by the Environment Agency. Thanks to compensation funding, processed with the support of West Berkshire Council, Thatcham Town Cricket Club has now been able to reinstate an even better training facility—futureproofed for years of use and enjoyment.

Installation was completed with speed and professionalism by Slatter Cricket and Play, whose agility ensured the facility was delivered on time for the summer season.

The new practice facility is already proving to be a vital asset for Thatcham Town Cricket Club, supporting training sessions, junior development, and wider community engagement. By combining Notts Sport’s expertise in non-turf cricket systems with the commitment of local partners, the installation ensures the club remains a hub for cricket in the region.

“This project is a fantastic example of how collaboration—between local clubs, councils, contractors, and the Environment Agency—can deliver lasting benefits for sport and the community,” said Alex Bennett, Director at Slatter Cricket and Play.

With over 41 years’ experience, Notts Sport is a leading supplier of innovative, sustainable artificial surfacing solutions for cricket, hockey, and play. The company’s ECB-approved cricket systems are trusted by clubs, schools, and governing bodies across the UK and beyond.
