Flux Fire Protection were instructed to carry out a fire compartmentation survey at the Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) Wakefield facility in West Yorkshire, the largest soft drinks bottling plant in Europe, which produces over 100 million cases annually. This 45-acre site produces up to 1 billion litres of soft drinks per year.

About the Project

Flux Fire Protection were engaged by the Coca-Cola team to attend the site and carry out a fire-stopping inspection of the existing passive fire protection measures in place, and to determine compliance with both the building's Fire Strategy Plan, the Fire Compartmentation plans, and Building Regulations.

Key objectives identified at instruction: 

  • Compartmentation survey / firestopping survey / passive fire protection survey 

  • Then any associated remedial works as a result of the survey to maintain the building's compliance with the Fire Strategy and Building Regulation measures.

  • Maintaining the integrity of the compartmentation plans, ensuring safety for occupants and protecting the property.

Our Approach

Flux Fire Protection allocated our Compartmentation Surveyors to the site over an extended duration of time and over multiple visits to this 45-acre site, producing a comprehensive Compartmentation Survey Report, scoping any required remedial works to ensure that the site's passive fire protection measures remained compliant.

Flux Fire Protection were then instructed to carry out any necessary passive fire protection works as highlighted in the report, including batt and mastic seals to service penetrations, and firestopping to head of wall voids.
