Palletising Millions of Printed Packaging Sleeves at Cartonage & KOJ Packaging

Cartonage Limited and KOJ Packaging produce millions of printed food packaging sleeves for customers across the UK and Ireland. Granta Automation supplied a robotic palletiser capable of keeping pace with three separate production lines feeding into it.

Cartonage Limited and KOJ Packaging produce millions of printed packaging sleeves used across the UK and Ireland's food industry, with production split across multiple lines running at varying speeds throughout the day.

Granta Automation supplied a robotic palletising system designed to accept input from all three of the site's production lines, stacking finished sleeves regardless of which line they arrive from or how quickly boxes are being produced at any given time. Site Quality Manager Lee Clack has highlighted how reliably the system copes with this mixed, multi-line input.

For a packaging manufacturer running several lines side by side, a single palletiser able to handle varying speeds and multiple infeeds removes the need for a dedicated machine on every line, saving both cost and floor space while still keeping pace with production.

The installation illustrates how a single, well-specified robotic cell can serve multiple production lines at once, provided the system is designed around the actual speeds and product mix involved. Granta Automation designs multi-line palletising systems for packaging manufacturers across the UK. Visit our website today and contact us.
