Fire Risk Assessment

For all businesses, it is important to note the recent change in legislation. From October 2023, ‘all’ businesses must record a fire risk assessment and fire safety arrangements in full – regardless of the number of employees, and size or type of business. (Section 156 of the Building Safety Act). In short, the current legislation requires that any workplace including the common areas in residential flats, must have a Fire Risk Assessment carried out and for it to be reviewed regularly (in general it is considered best practice for the assessment to be carried out annually). Failure to do so could result in your premises being served with enforcement or prohibition notices by the Fire Service, often resulting in loss or disruption to your business.

Fire Safety Training

Our post-training evaluations are always good to read – our trainers receive fantastic feedback and are often specifically requested for further training sessions with a client.

Adena Fire trainers take their responsibilities very seriously and aim to provide training that both engages delegates and assists in the retention of the information. The training content is based on the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 – the key legislation for fire safety in the workplace.

Fire Marshal / Warden Training

Fire Marshal / Warden Training will take into account the findings of your Fire Risk Assessment (and the design and use of your building) and will be designed to be easily understood by all those attending.

Fire Safety & Extinguisher Training

Fire Safety & Extinguisher Training is based around the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and will include:

Any fire hazards within, or associated with, your premises

The general fire protection measures installed in your premises

Actions to take in the event of discovering a fire

Actions to take on hearing the fire alarm signal

The use of the portable fire extinguishing equipment installed in your premises

Management of fire safety in the work place

Fire Evacuation Chair Training

Fire Evacuation Chair Training: In the event of a fire, lifts cannot be used for evacuation – therefore, stairs are the main escape route for everyone. We undertake Evacuation Chair Training to ensure safe evacuation procedures for any disabled and mobility impaired persons on-site in an emergency fire scenario. Fire Evacuation Training is an important part of your procedures to protect staff, and visitors to your premises.

Dry & Wet Risers

Dry and wet risers are fixed systems, used by the Fire Service in the event of a fire. Dry risers are generally found in buildings between 18 and 50m in height. However, buildings less than 18m in height, may also have dry risers. Any buildings over 50m in height will have a wet riser installed.

It is crucial that these riser systems are in good working order at all times and that their location clearly signed as they are used by the Fire Service to direct water to the fire quickly and effectively.

Fire Safety Consultancy

Adena Fire provides a bespoke fire safety consultancy service, tailored to each client’s specific requirements – such as new build design consultancy and building refurbishments, or changes of use or occupation.

Building Safety Case Reports

Our Building Safety Case Report service helps you meet the new legal requirements under the Building Safety Act 2022, ensuring that your high-rise residential buildings (those over 18 meters or seven floors) are fully compliant with current safety regulations. A Building Safety Case Report is essential for proving that fire and structural risks are effectively managed, providing evidence of safety measures and ongoing maintenance.

This service is particularly important for building owners, managers, and duty holders responsible for maintaining a safe living environment. Our team of experts will guide you through the process, from risk assessments to compiling and submitting the required documentation, ensuring your building meets the highest safety standards.
