Citadel Sheets
FILON Citadel sheets serve as a durable substitute for steel sheets in hostile settings that promote the decay and corrosion of metals. This makes it ideal for construction projects such as galvanizing plants, aluminium smelting works, fertiliser plants, composting facilities, coastal and marine buildings, chemical works, and many other similar applications.
FILON Citadel is utilised extensively in these aggressive and corrosive environments as a roofing and wall cladding solution, and is offered in a broad variety of profiles, along with translucent and opaque colours and tints.
Refurb Over-Roofing
The FILON Over-roofing system offers a remarkable array of benefits for building refurbishment, including time and cost savings, reduced environmental impact, and much more.
Our refurb over-roofing products have been successfully employed in numerous diverse applications across the UK and Ireland, ranging from factories and industrial units to leisure centres, retail outlets, and local authority housing. Constructed from robust profiled GRP sheets, FILON Over-roofing is specifically designed to deliver a quick, hassle-free, and economical solution for creating a new waterproof layer over an existing roof, irrespective of its condition.
Over-roofing is offered with a standard 25mm thick Profix spacer or an option for a 60mm thick version, which accommodates some insulation as well.

Fixsafe – Safety Fixing System
Figures published by the Health & Safety Executive show that falls through fragile roofing could equate to nearly 30% of fatal accidents in the construction industry. The Filon Fixsafe safety fixing system has been developed to address this problem, to safely replace GRP roof sheets and rooflights from inside a building, avoiding the need to access the roof from above.
Internal Rooflights / Laylights
FILON has been manufacturing and supplying high-quality Glass Reinforced Polyester (GRP) sheets in the industrial, agricultural and commercial sectors for more than 65 years. The outstanding durability, versatility and ease of installation have made GRP sheets a top choice for rooflight and roofing solutions for internal and external uses.
Internal rooflights, commonly known as laylights, are often required when working with discontinued roofing systems within older industrial buildings. In order to create seamless light transmission and insulation while not compromising existing traditional construction, we created FILON Filites – a smart, modern-daylaylight solution for discontinued roofing systems.
FILON Filites are factory-assembled double-skin translucent internal rooflights manufactured from FILON GRP sheets. Designed for internal linings and used with suspended ceilings and purlin linings, our double-skin GRP box rooflights work seamlessly with external rooflights, allowing natural light to pass through whilst maintaining balanced insulation levels.

ConSeal Valley
ConSeal Valley is our patented dry-fix GRP trough featured in the Filon V-Flow range. This innovative solution delivers the traditional stitched valley appearance without any visible lead or mortar. The hidden S-shaped profile minimises the distance between tile supports while providing a 35 percent wider drainage channel for optimal water flow. This results in a reduced need for tile-and-a-half or slate-and-a-half units, leading to lower roof covering costs. It is compatible with slate, plain tile, and flat tile roofs.
GRP Valley Troughs
FILON V-Flow Valley Troughs have been designed as a lightweight, durable and cost-effective alternative to traditional lead Valley Troughs, providing an efficient channel to direct and collect water run-off while preventing roof leaks. Manufactured from glass-reinforced polymer (GRP), our GRP Valley Troughs boast the unrivalled benefits of this fantastic composite material.
Flat Sheet
Filon flat sheets are made from glass reinforced polymer and can be manufactured in a range of thicknesses, weights and strengths. They’re available in translucent, colour tinted or opaque colours. A range of fire performance grades is available to suit specific site and regulatory requirements.
Case Study: All Makes Autocentre Roof Upgrade
The All Makes Autocentre in Ilminster recently underwent a major roof refurbishment to replace its aging asbestos roof sheets. Tek Clad Ltd, the appointed contractor, took on the task of removing the hazardous materials and installing a modern roofing system that prioritises safety, efficiency, and durability. Filon’s GRP rooflights were a key component in delivering the project’s success.
Case Study: Wood Henry & Sons Farm
Wood Henry & Sons Farm, part of the esteemed Crown Estate, faced significant issues with its old and deteriorating GRP rooflights. Green & Heritage Roofing, a contractor based in Halifax had successfully used Fixsafe on previous projects and was confident in its ability to safely and effectively address the farm’s needs.
Fixsafe is an innovative and patented rooflight replacement system from Filon, one of the UK’s market leading manufacturers of GRP rooflights.
In collaboration with SIG Roofing and Green & Heritage Roofing, Filon identified the specific profile required for the project and provided a comprehensive Fixsafe specification. This collaborative approach ensured that all project requirements were met with precision and efficiency.
Preston North End
Preston North End FC recently embarked on a project to replace the ageing GRP translucent sheeting on The Town End Stand at the historic Deepdale Stadium.
The main objectives of replacing the rooflight sheets were to improve the levels of natural daylight into the north facing stand; ensure long-lasting durability; and enhance safety.
