We have equipped our in house Product Development Department with the latest technology to allow us to produce designs for equipment utilising, various CAD packages, and development software. We at GN Systems like to assist people who have ideas but lack the knowledge to develop them further. From concept to reality we can help design a product which may have great market potential. Our Product Development Department is involved in some very exciting and challenging projects.
The department is headed by Technical Director, Philip Gordon, who will always be pleased to discuss ideas for new products and designs with both old and new customers.

Our Surface Mount Technology Department has recently moved into new larger premises, which has allowed us to expand our customer base, meaning we can quote for even larger productions. The department operates to a high standard of quality control. We are always pleased to welcome potential new customers to view the facility, by prior appointment.
Through Hole PCB Assembly
In order to ensure all products are of premium quality all components are placed under anti-static conditions.
We offer a wide variety of production ranges including quick turn around prototypes to full production runs that may be supplied to the customer on a scheduled order. Our electronic assembly team is highly adaptable and will try and accommodate every client request.
In fact, the department has recently moved to larger premises giving us more production scope. As a result we can now handle much larger orders with improved turn around times.
PCB WasherWe pride ourselves in having the highest possible standard of production which is maintained through our strict quality control procedures, meaning we offer our clients a premium product that matches our excellent service. These quality controls are ensured through constant testing and monitoring of our operation. We also offer a certification of the completed and tested product on request.
Our electronic assembly team can accommodate any type of printed circuit boards. We combine expertise and amazing attention to detail in order to meet every requirement.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us either by phone or by email. If you would like to discuss requirements for a quotation please contact Nick Usher who is the director responsible for the PCB department.
Electronic Manufacturing
Among the wide variety of electronic manufacturing products that the team currently produce are; machine control panels, fire and security products, energy monitoring equipment, medical devices and water treatment systems.
Indeed, we do not discriminate as any type of order, from small to large production runs will be catered for in a professional and efficient manner.
At GN Systems we enforce the strictest possible controls through out the production process. In fact, we take pride in being fully accredited within the industry and uphold the highest possible standards which benefit us and our customers.

Cable Harness
All cables and components used carry full approvals with certification being available to the customer if required.
The department can produce harnesses and asemblies from both samples or drawings.
The quality of the finished product is assured by strict conformity to our quality control procedures.
Where pre-production samples are required we will be pleased to arrange to supply as required.
Repair & Test
Test procedures, to the customer's specification and approval, are fully documented with certification at each stage of production being available if required.
Test results are archived electronically for future traceability.
Test equipment is monitored and calibrated at specific intervals to maintain conformity to relevant standards. Calibration certificates are issued after every test and filed for each piece of equipment.
Quality Assurance
GN Systems was awarded ISO9002 in April 1999 after three years of developing a fully documented Quality System. Further accreditation to ISO 9001:2008 has recently been achieved, with the company's QMAP Quality System outlining the policy and arrangements within the organisation to ensure compliance with the standard. View Quality Policy.
All procedures and elements of the quality system are mandatory and are implemented by the company's employees who are fully trained to ensure understanding and implementation of the system.
The company employs a Quality Control Manager with responsibility for maintaining all aspects of the Quality System, and for seeking continuous further improvement.
The Quality Control Manager also has responsibility for the implementation of the Company's Health and Safety Policy.
Panel Building
Our design team will be happy to work from your circuit drawing, design the layout and wire the panel and submit for your approval. If you have your own component sources we will be pleased to use them on a 'free issue' basis.
Fire Protection Where It Counts
We have experience with box building in cabinet rack mountable fire detection and suppression systems.
Total Energy In Your Control
A client project from concept to assembly. We designed a variety of PCBs, enclosures and wiring looms whilst also developing a self-learning software which allowed the units to regulate the firing cycle of a boiler to match demand without any user intervention. This was achieved using sensors fitted to flow and return pipes to collect data, creating unique algorithms. Benefits then included an increase in central heating system efficiency, reduced heating fuel consumption, reduced COâ‚‚ emissions and reduced heating fuel expenditure.
Taking the Pressure Off
GN Systems have worked with a number of clients on pressure-relieving equipment in a healthcare setting, as well as providing specialist repair and servicing. Various PCB designs have been developed by our team alongside mechanical innovations to help provide practical ergonomic products, which deliver effective pressure redistribution and increased patient comfort, helping to avoid pressure sores.
Safety Over Guess Work
Our team have helped bring several vehicle and work site safety systems to market. Undertaking research and development projects, our team have developed and manufactured devices including vehicle turning and tipping aids, inclinometers, high voltage cable detectors and wirelessly controlled bespoke traffic light systems.
About us
Founded in 1982, GN Systems Ltd has over 35 years of experience in the design, assembly, and distribution of PCB technologies and prototypes, supporting a wide range of industries across the UK. From the beginning, our mission has been to evolve into a forward-thinking, multi-skilled company that embraces the latest technologies to deliver exceptional products and services. Specialising in electrical and electronic design, we’ve built a strong reputation for professionalism, innovation, and efficiency.
Our Core Services:
PCB Assembly
PCB assembly is at the heart of what we do. We use advanced surface mount technology to place over 16,000 components per hour with 0.01mm accuracy, including ultra-small 0201 parts. Our temperature-controlled convection reflow ovens use customised soldering profiles to ensure consistent quality. For larger components, we offer through-hole assembly via wave or hand soldering. We support all PCB types—from single-sided to multilayer—and finish every board under anti-static conditions, complete with IPC-A-610 standards. We also offer conformal coating for environmental protection and durability.
PCB Design & Development
Our team brings expertise in schematic and PCB layout, mechanical design, and software development. Using modern CAD and development platforms, we transform ideas into production-ready designs. We also carry out R&D for complex projects, allowing us to innovate, enhance existing products, or develop entirely new solutions.
Manufacturing & Mechanical Assembly
In response to increasing demand, we've expanded our services to include mechanical assembly, panel building, and box builds. Whether working from customer drawings or developing custom solutions, our in-house 3D printing and CNC routing facilities enable us to deliver precise, bespoke parts and assemblies. From handheld enclosures to full-scale offsite installations, our team is equipped to handle projects of all sizes.
Cable Harnessing
Our investment in automated and manual cutting, stripping, and crimping equipment allows us to meet high-volume cable harnessing needs with speed and precision. We offer time-saving cable prep services—cut to length, stripped, tinned, and ready to use—as well as complete cable solutions with crimp terminals, housings, or soldered connections, all fully tested. Pre-production samples are available to ensure every requirement is met.
