This training course equips delegates with essential knowledge regarding the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations.                                                

The purpose of this unit is to align with the national occupational standards for a medium-risk confined space environment.

This unit encompasses both water and non-water industry sectors.

Water: This may involve working with potable water, sewage treatment processes, drain and sewer cleaning operations, or situations where the operative is working in or around water or where a confined space is at risk of surface water flooding.

Non-water: This may include sectors such as pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, asbestos removal, vehicle manufacturing and servicing, aeronautics, construction, communications, energy, utilities, gas, electrical and mechanical engineering, along with certain operations in mines, quarries, and tunnelling.

This unit is designed for individuals operating in a medium-risk environment, covering essential aspects such as safe work preparation, safe entry and exit from medium-risk confined spaces, proper use of equipment and tools, adherence to safety procedures, and effective emergency response.

The objective of this unit is to align with the national occupational standard for high-risk confined space environments.

This unit encompasses both the water and non-water industry sectors.

This unit is designed for individuals operating within high-risk environments and covers essential training in preparing to work safely, entering and exiting high-risk confined spaces securely, using equipment and tools properly, adhering to safety procedures, and effectively managing emergencies.

The purpose of this unit is to evaluate learners against the national standard in a realistic high-risk environment, focusing on safe preparation for work, proper entry and exit from confined spaces, preparation and usage of self-contained open-circuit breathing apparatus, safe utilisation of equipment and tools, compliance with procedures, and emergency response strategies.

Additionally, there is a significant emphasis on the candidate conducting the assessment efficiently and safely.

The unit also necessitates that learners demonstrate adequate general and water-specific knowledge through a combination of practical observation and written assessments.

This one-day introductory course in health and safety is designed for individuals who are new to the construction and civil engineering sectors. It covers the key health and safety concerns present on construction sites and how these issues impact your role.

Additionally, this course is recommended as a health and safety knowledge refresher after a period of five years.

This course is designed for individuals who are contemplating, or currently hold, supervisory responsibilities.

All water companies in the UK mandate that individuals entering clean water sites or working on the clean water network—referred to as ‘Restricted Operations’—must possess a National Water Hygiene EUSR registration.

‘Restricted Operations’ encompass tasks carried out on service reservoirs, water pumping stations, water treatment works, wells, springs, boreholes, as well as operations on the network of water mains and service pipes.

It is not solely water company employees who are affected. If you are involved in a ‘Restricted Operation’ as a subcontractor for a water company or another organisation, such as a Self-Lay Organisation (SLO), you will also be required to obtain a National Water Hygiene EUSR registration.

This course is designed for all employees assuming the roles of Fire Marshal or Fire Warden, focusing on the safe use of fire extinguishers in the workplace. It complies with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of fire safety protocols.

The course encompasses hands-on exercises in signing, lighting, and guarding, along with pedestrian protection measures, traffic and safety controls. It includes discussions on roadwork scenarios and detailed explanations of the NRSWA Regulations, ensuring thorough understanding and compliance.

Non-water: applicable sectors may involve pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, asbestos removal, vehicle manufacturing and servicing, aeronautics, construction, communications, and utilities operations including gas, electrical, and mechanical engineering, as well as certain work operations in mines, quarries, and tunnelling.

This unit is designed for the entry controller or top person who oversees entry and arrangements for medium-risk confined spaces and operates within them. It encompasses the responsibilities of an entry controller, pre-entry procedures, preparations for safe working, the safe use of equipment and tools, entry into and exit from the medium-risk confined space, maintaining effective communication, and establishing and implementing emergency procedures.

The aim is to equip delegates with the essential knowledge to safely assemble, dismantle, and relocate a mobile access tower, minimising the risk of personal injury to themselves and others. This comprehensive training ensures adherence to safety protocols and promotes a secure working environment.

This course is designed for individuals working in any location (including areas at or below ground level where there is a risk of falling). It covers how to safely obtain access to and egress (including ascent and descent) from any workspace while on the job.

What will I learn?
